Decanter: Dark, serious and broody nose, not quite developed yet. The palate is tight as well, with chalky, sticky tannins on the background of dark fruits and a hint of pencil shavings. A classic that definitely needs more time."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Malescot St. Exupéry prances out with gregarious notes of juicy blueberries and black raspberries, leading to hints of violets, mossy tree bark, and camphor. The medium-bodied palate is intense with shimmery blue and red berry flavors, supported by ripe, fine-grained tannins and great tension, finishing long and perfumed. Stunning!"

Jane Anson: Flavoursome, this is luscious and juicy, with the concentration and ripeness that I was expecting in more of the wines this year. Rose petals, damson, slate, crayon, cocoa bean, mint, DNA of the Margaux appellation on display. Just 2018 and 2022 were higher numbers in terms of phenolic compounds, and the 3.68ph is still low, but the perception is far less intense than in many properties. 22hl/ha yield across the vineyard, harvest September 8 for young Merlot, then Cabernet Sauvignon began September 19 and finished September 29. Jeb Dunnuck: All Sauvignon Blanc raised in 20% new barriques, the 2025 Château Margaux Pavillon Blanc checks in at 14% alcohol with a pH of 3.14. James Suckling: This linear wine shows blackberries, blueberries and some dark chocolate. It’s medium-bodied with ultra-fine tannins. The texture is so caressing. Lovely length. A pure and precise wine. Aged in in concrete tank and 30-hectoliter casks."

Decanter: Lovely cool and crisp aromas with charcoal, cola, blueberries and a hint of iris. Softly chewy but really juicy with a strawberry fruit core and chalky tannins that spread out across the mouth. A little short perhaps in terms of fruit intensity, a bit firm and serious still, but this should round out nicely with such piercing acidity and purity of fruit. Really very easy to approach. Nothing out of balance. A great-value pick that really delivers a classic Bordeaux aspect. A yield of 34hl/ha."

Chateau Monbousquet - ein weiteres Château aus dem Imperium von Gerard Perse. Jeb Dunnuck: A Cabernet-dominant blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot that's being raised in 40% new barriques with the balance in once-used barrels, the 2025 Château Monbrison is a beautiful Margaux offering ample red, blue, and black fruits, spicy wood, and floral aromatics. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it's nicely balanced, has ripe tannins, and integrated acidity. Checking in at 13.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.5, it's a terrific 2025 that does everything right."

Decanter: Really floral on the nose, expressive with ripe red and black fruit, incense perfumed scents and a rich headiness with such aromatic purity. Supple and velvety, round and lively with quite a delicate style here where the focus is on the clarity of the blueberry fruit and the lifted aspects rather than fleshiness or power. Almost understated, a word not often used with Pape. A soft salty, wet stone and chalky aspect on the finish. Definitely fresh with lots of energy here. Elegant and precise with a soft chew on the finish and ripe fruit. 1% Petit Verdot completes the blend. 3.68pH. A yield of 29hl/ha. Ageing 85% in barrels (1/3 new) and 15% in foudres. James Suckling: This is enveloping, with a broad textural element running throughout. It’s bright and incisive, yet with a blanket of fruit that extends across the palate. Flavorful and long. Jeb Dunnuck: Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Arômes De Pavie has a gorgeous, Cabernet-like nose of red and black fruits, smoky tobacco, crushed stone, and chocolaty, truffly nuances. It's rich and powerful on the palate, with full-bodied richness, a concentrated, layered mouthfeel, flawless balance, and a great finish. You'd be excused for mistaking this for the grand vin of a few years ago, and it's more in the style of the classic Pavie than the Grand Vin in 2025."

Decanter: What I like about this wine is that it is not gooseberry varietal but rather exudes more complex aromatics such as lime blossom and yuzu. Aged in a mix of steel and oak vats, the fruit is clearly expressed and this is a frank success for the 2025 vintage. Light bodied and enjoyable, with some contoured character! Ideal for charcuterie or to get the party started."

Jeb Dunnuck: Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Château Ripeau comes from deeper clay soils behind Cheval Blanc, not far from Pomerol, and is a blend of 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon that's being raised 18 months in 50% new barrels. Cassis, liquid violets, graphite, blueberries, and smoky nuances all define the aromatics, and on the palate, it's fleshy and medium to full-bodied, with supple, polished tannins and outstanding length. I love its purity, and it's a supple, pleasure-bent beauty in the vintage."

Decanter: Lovely aromatics, floral and open on the nose with ripe blackcurrant and plum fruit as well as a cedar and cinnamon edges. Juicy and upfront, this has such a bright opening with clarity to the bramble fruit and acidity that drives the wine forward. Perfumed and pure, very classy and drinkable. Lovely hands off approach."

James Suckling: Exuberant dark fruit. This is structured, with a touch of cedar and polished, fine-grained tannins that are so sophisticated and run the length of the wine. Classy. 78% cabernet sauvignon, 15% merlot, 4% cabernet franc and 3% petit verdot."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Saint-Pierre slowly emerges from the glass with delicate, fragrant notes of fresh black and red currants and violets, followed by hints of graphite and wild sage. The medium-bodied palate is tightly wound and intense with soft-spoken savory and mineral-laced black fruit layers, framed by firm, grainy tannins and a refreshing line, finishing long and perfumed. This is a gorgeous, understated beauty! The blend is 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot. The alcohol is 13%."

The palate is full-bodied, rich, powerful, deep, and creamy There is lift to the wealth of fruit that coats mouth and palate, leaving you with waves of supple, ripe, and sweet berries, and pit fruits. Give it a few years in the bottle and this going to be simply fabulous. The wine blends 86% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. 13.5% ABV. Aging takes place in a combination of 50% new, French oak, 1 year old barrels, foudres and amphora. Harvesting took place September 15 - September 22. Drink from 2029-2055."

Decanter: Black fruit and fragranced notes on the nose. Smooth and supple, round and really excellently weighted, nothing out of place with plenty of minty cool freshness, licks of graphite, liquorice and wet stones with a softly chalky finish. Excellent bargain this year. Plenty to like, easy to drink with a really classic, approachable aspect. This stands out this year. 3.80pH. A yield of 30hl/ha. 5% Petit Verdot completes the blend."

Decanter: Gorgeous aromatics with a subtle iodine-inflected freshness set the tone. This Lalande-de-Pomerol shows refinement in its tannic extraction, carefully managed by Vincent Millet, also at the helm of Calon-Ségur. The élevage in 80% concrete preserves a clear sense of fruit. Notes of damson and forest strawberry are layered with a delicate hint of rose stem. The finish is long and composed-an understated success of the vintage. Tasted twice with similarly positive impressions."

Juicy red, blue, and black fruits, graphite, crushed stone, and flowers all define the aromatics of this quintessential, medium to full-bodied, concentrated 2025. On the palate, it has ripe tannins and a great finish. It's going to spend 15 months in 50% new barrels with the balance in once-used barrels and foudre."
