DECANTER: "Lovely aromatic intensity. Delicate, this is certainly more focussed on finesse as opposed to density but there’s an element of verticality with a layered effect of creamy tannins and acidity. This feels restrained though, they could have pushed this much further and didn’t and this is better for it. Good effort."

JEB DUNNUCK: "From argilo-graveleux soils and based on 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, brought up in 30% new oak for 16 months, the 2024 Château Rouget has a distinctly herbal component in its darker fruits as well as peppery herbs, graphite, and damp earth-like nuances. It's beautiful on the palate and has a ripe, layered mouthfeel, plenty of mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It's a singular, impressive, beautiful wine that I'd be happy to own."
