DECANTER: "Grippy and fun, this has some personality from the start - red cherries with really quite fleshy but cool tannins that fill the mouth. It’s definitely on the more textured and wide spectrum but really retains an easy drinkability with purity and clarity. Finessed and elegant while still having character and lift thanks to sweet and sappy acidity. Totally delicious with creamy raspberry yoghurt, cherries and blueberry fruit. One to look out for. 3.45pH"

JAMES SUCKLING: "Good depth of flavor for the vintage, showing a touch of red pepper to the spiced blackberries and cherries. Medium- to full-bodied, this has juicy fruit and crunchy tannins that deliver good vibration. Long finish."

ANSON: "Gentle grilled cedar and campfire, soft purple colour, chalky even flinty tannins that are reflective of its clay limestone soils. This is a wine that steals up on you, charmingly so, as you sit and allow the fruit to unroll. They have done a good job with the vintage, teasing out concentration, and the acidity is kept measured and in check. Not a wine to age for decades, but there is plenty to enjoy along the way. 3.45 pH, 66 IPT, 75 % new oak. Harvest 25 September to 9 October, 34 hl/ha yields. Heavy bottle, tasted twice. Really is a wine to watch, sappy with energy and limestone signature but also rich fruits."

JEB DUNNUCK: "Sporting a deep ruby/plum hue as well as classy notes of red, blue, and black fruits intermixed with obvious minerality and graphite, the 2024 Château Sansonnet is medium-bodied, with a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. It's clearly outstanding and, I suspect, will be a terrific value."

VINUM: "Intensiver Duft, Veilchen, Schwarzkirsche, Johannisbeeren, kalkige Mineralik; satter Gaumen, zeigt Dichte und Rasse, feinkörniges Tannin, gut verpacktes Holz, der Wein zeig Schliff und Finesse, hallt lange nach. Sehr gelungen, hat Reserven."

FALSTAFF: "Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Zart nach Sanddorn, dunkles Beerenkonfit, Nuancen von Hagebutten, tabakige Würze. Schlank, rotbeerig, frische Kirschen, lebendig strukturiert, präsente Tannine, mineralischer Nachhall, wird von Reife profitieren."
