Jeb Dunnuck: Deep ruby/plum-hued, the 2025 Château De La Dauphine comes from a great estate in Fronsac that's well worth seeking out. Based on 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc that will spend 12 months in a mix of oak, foudres, and amphorae, it has remarkable purity in its black raspberry, cassis, graphite, and chocolaty, floral, exotic aromatics. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, graceful, layered mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. It checks in at 14% alcohol with a pH of 3.5, and plays in the focused, pure, precise style of the vintage. It's beautifully done and should be snatched up by savvy readers."

Decanter: Another excellent vintage from this trusty estate. A cool crystalline nose, cola, liquorice, tar and blueberries. So clean and pure. Crisp and focused from the off, a cooling menthol and blackcurrant element, soft grippy tannins and the most beautiful juicy mid palate that just makes you smile. A happy wine. It’s powerful no doubt but in a restrained way without any heaviness. Vibrant and energetic. I love the focus, the freshness and relatively delicacy. Filing in the month but this is exceptional in terms of fruit purity. Very drinkable. A yield of 30hl/ha. 3.68pH."

James Suckling: Fruity, supple, velvety and refined, with a medium body and velvety tannins and texture. Balanced, very elegant and in control. Flavorful, lingering finish."

James Suckling: Aromas of al dente fruit, blackberries and a hint of mint. Medium- to full-bodied with firm and linear tannins that are polished and caressing. Persistent finish of dark, brooding fruit. You don’t really see the tannins, just the purity of fruit. Energetic and intense at the end. 97% merlot and 3% petit verdot."

James Suckling: Medium- to full-bodied, structured and expressive, with firm, fine-grained, chewy tannins and deep dark fruit that persists throughout, with a subtle saline note in the finish."

Preislich wie qualitativ ist dieser GAFFELEIRE eine Sensation. Seit 2017 geht hier richtig die Post ab. Die Lagen auf diesem Gut direkt unterhalb von Chateau Ausone bringen tiefe, reife und komplexe Weine hervor. Das Nasenparfüm setzt sich am Gaumen auf beeindruckende Art und Weise fort. Noten von reifem Cabernet Franc, Graphit, Schokolade und dezentes Holz, hier wird das volle Programm gespielt. Jane Anson: Well made, sleek and deep dark fruits, cassis pastille, intense with a cushion of air. A very impressive vintage here, nuanced and well structured. Delphine Frey, Director of the Frey family estates, yield 20hl/ha. Xavier Moragues is the cellar master and technical director, with the estate for the past 18 months. New use of foudres and porcelain jars alongside oak barrels during the ageing, and the vineyard has also returned to its historic 1855 classified surface."

Jeb Dunnuck: Honeyed peach, minty herbs, and flowers all define the 2025 Château La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, a brilliant white based on 64.5% Sauvignon Blanc and 35.5% Sémillon that's being raised in 30% new oak, which is slightly less than in past vintages. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it's incredibly pure and focused, with juicy acidity and a great finish. It's an absolutely stunning wine that pretty much stopped me in my tracks. Drink 2026-2050."

James Suckling: A powerful second wine with lots of chewy tannins and a stony and steely texture. Medium-bodied with a solid core of fruit and a fresh and bright finish. 52.6% cabernet sauvignon, 28.3% merlot, 18% cabernet franc and 1.1% petit verdot."

CHATEAU LA MISSION HAUT BRION für 199 Euro und das mit 100 PUNKTEN. Liebe Bordeaux-Freaks, das ist ein Muss-Kauf. Wir waren anlässlich unseres Besuchs, der immer mit großer Freude, aber auch hohen Erwartungen einhergeht, zutiefst beeindruckt. Dieser Wein strotzt nur so vor Energie. Dunkle Früchte und Beeren, Raucharomen, Cassis, Bleistift, ein beeindruckender Mix, der sich am Gaumen fortsetzt. All dies ist so frisch, dabei ungemein cremig, dass man absolut nichts findet, was man kritisieren könnte. 2025 ist ein Traum von einem MISSION! Get it!

Dieser 2025er Jahrgang MONDOTTE schrammt mehrfach an der magischen 100er MARKE und das zu Recht. Denn LUDOVIC von NEIPPERG hat hier ganze Arbeit geleistet, selbstredend im Einklang mit dem hervorragenden Terroir weit oben auf dem Kalksteinplateau. Organische Bewirtschaftung wird hier bereits seit Jahren praktiziert. Und obgleich die 70 % Merlot und 30 % Cabernet Franc enorm konzentriert, süß und tief im Fruchtausdruck sind, hat dieser St. Emilion einen nahezu kühlen Ausdruck am Gaumen mit enormer Frische, straffer Mineralik und Säure, der ihn am Gaumen nahezu tänzeln lässt. Ein absoluter TOP-WEIN, zu den besten Jahrgängen gehörend und das auch noch unter Vorjahrespreis. Ein absolutes Must-have! 

Vinum: Dunkelfruchtig, Heidelbeeren, Brombeeren und mit bezaubernder Floralität, subtile Röstnote, kühler Kamin, ein verführerischer Duft; gradlinig und fokussiert am Gaumen, knackige Frucht, die Tannine sind in Massen vorhanden, seidenweich und fein mit der Frucht verwoben, das Holz ist perfekt verpackt; im Abgang von ausgezeichneter Länge, endet rotfruchtig, salin, mit pikanter Würze. Der beste, je produzierte La Pointe."

Jane Anson: Inky colour, delivering a wine with balance and slate-textured tannins, dark fruits, very much in the cassis and bilberry frame, dried herbs, good length and tension through the palate. Always a wine to follow, and it succeeds again. 3.3 pH. Harvest September 15 to 24. 20% new oak (400l casks), plus 30% in cement vats. The Cab Franc comes from massal selection from the properties in St Emilion in the plateau. Nicolas and Cyrille Thienpont, Derenoncourt Consulting."

Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zart nach Veilchen und Gewürznelken, schwarze Herzkirschen, etwas Cassis und Lakritze, facettenreiches, einladendes Bukett. Saftig, reife Kirschen, zarte Extraktsüße, runde Tannine, gute Frische, bleibt haften, bereits harmonisch, zeigt gutes Reifepotenzial."

Vinum: Frischer Duft, mineralisch geprägt, Blütenhonig, Aprikose, Zartbitterorangen; der Gaumen ist saftig, reichhaltig, dabei frisch, knackige Frucht, viel Energie, leichtfüssig, würzig, mit markanter Dörraprikosennote im Finale. Finessenreich, strukturiert, lang, salzig. Ausgezeichnet."

James Suckling: Extremely floral and perfumed, with red fruit aromas that follow through to a medium body with fine and integrated tannins and a creamy texture. Pretty and seductive for this estate. Precise. 69% merlot, 28% cabernet sauvignon, 2% petit verdot, and 1% cabernet franc. Best La Tour Carnet in years."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Flowers, currants, cherries, forest floor, tobacco, and licorice scents fill the perfume. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, sweet, polished, and creamy. There is great energy, giving lift to the finish that carries through to the supple polished finish. One of the top values in Margaux, this is a big step-up in quality from pervious vintages, and the sign of good things to come. The wine blends 57% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, and 4% Cabernet Franc. 12.5% ABV. Drink from 2029-2045."

Decanter: Dark heady scents on the nose, ripe blackcurrants with some dark chocolate touches. Quite a hands off style with lovely fruit purity and delicacy in terms of tannins and wood. A touch grippy on the finish with some cooling liquorice and stony aspects. Really well balanced and well delivered, harmonious with a lovely supple, bounce. Deep and concentrated but with no heaviness.This is really not trying to be something it can't. Fine delicate, compelling. One of the best EP samples I've tried from this estate. 3.7pH. Ageing 16 months, 30% new barrels, 50% one year, 5% amphora."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 La Vieille Cure rocks up with exuberant notes of plum preserves and stewed black cherries, followed by hints of Chinese five spice, cedar chest, and wet slate. The full-bodied palate has a solid structure of grainy tannins and refreshing acidity to support the taut, muscular black fruit, finishing savory."

Jeb Dunnuck: Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Château La Violette has a gorgeous nose of ripe red, blue, and black fruits as well as spicy herbs, chocolate, and graphite. Based on 100% Merlot that will spend 14 months in new barrels, it's rich and concentrated on the palate, medium to full-bodied, with ripe, polished tannins and a great finish. This ultra-classic, pure, seductive, incredibly impressive Pomerol will certainly play with the top wines in the vintage. It's the finest wine I've tasted from this château in some time. Bravo."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Violets, iris, cherries, currants, raspberries, and white flowers create the aromatic profile. The palate is sensuous, silky, creamy, and vibrant. There is a sweetness, and purity to the fruits, with a touch of crushed rocks, and stones in the finish. The wine blends 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. 12.5% ABV. Drink from 2029-2055."

Weinwisser: 100 % Sémillon, 12 hl/ha, Alkohol 13.5 vol%, Restzucker 175 g/l. Betörendes Elixier, frisches Birnenmark, Mirabellenkompott, Mandarinenöl. Im zweiten Ansatz Tahiti-Vanille und Quittengelee. Am öligen, energiegeladenen Gaumen mit balancierter Rasse, feinpfeffrigem Extrakt, elegantem Körper. Im konzentrierten, nicht enden wollenden Finale Pfirsichkonfitüre, Kumquats sowie zarte Bitternis im Rückaroma. Kann in der perfekten Trinkreife die Höchstnote erhalten."

Decanter: Sour cherries and red plums on the nose, very fresh. Smoky and woody on the palate, but in good balance with creamy dark berries like blueberries. Surprisingly smooth and round for St Estephe. Good and juicy finish, lingers long."

Weinwisser: 55 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 34 % Merlot, 9 % Cabernet Franc, 2 % Petit Verdot. Dicht verwobenes, rotbeeriges Bouquet, heller Tabak, Graphit, erkalteter Hagebuttentee. Am komplexen, tiefgründigen Gaumen mit seidiger Textur, besticht durch energiegeladene Rasse und ist zugleich ungemein kraftvoll; engmaschiges, reifes Tanningerüst, perfekt trainierter Körper. Im konzentrierten, aromatischen, langen Finale roter Johannisbeernektar, tasmanischer Bergpfeffer und feinmehlige Adstringenz. So gut wie noch nie."

Wir hatten zweimal Gelegenheit gemeinsam mit ERIC KOHLER, dem technischen Direktor und SASKIA DE ROTHSCHILD das 2025er Portfolio zu verkosten und können nur sagen: Was für ein genialer LAFITE – 4 Mal 100 Punkte liebe Weinfreunde. Lediglich 12,5% Alkohol, das gab es im Jahrgang 2020 das letzte Mal, wobei es zu erwähnen gilt, dass LAFITE tendenziell grundsätzlich niedriger im Alkohol ist. ERIC KOHLER vergleicht 2025 deshalb auch mit dem Jahrgang 2020, allerdings meinte er, dass die Tannine im Jahrgang 2025 weicher sind, der Wein aromatischer und früher trinkbar. Was macht diesen 2025 CHATEAU LAFITE ROTHSCHILD so speziell? Die Lese startete mit dem 02. September zwar sehr früh, für den Jahrgang aber nicht ungewöhnlich früh. Die Erträge liegen ebenso im Jahrgangsrahmen. Der Regen Ende August verhalf diesem Wein zu dieser Besonderheit, bestehend aus einerseits Druck, Frucht, Süße und enormer Dichte, andererseits aber dieser ungemeinen Frische und Energie, dieser Mineralik und Salzigkeit. In sich ein Paradoxon, in dieser Kombination aber genial. Insofern unser Rat: Kaufen Sie sich etwas von diesem grandiosen Premier Cru, Sie werden es nicht bereuen! Wenn Sie Lafite Liebhaber sind, dann ist 2025 Ihr Jahrgang.

Falstaff: Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Frische Herzkirschen, Mandarinenzesten, floraler Touch, rotes Waldbeerkonfit unterlegt. Saftig, elegant, feine Extraktsüße, reife Tannine, frisch und bereits gut entwickelt, verfügt über sehr gute Länge, sicheres Zukunftspotenzial, sehr charmanter Stil."

Vinum: Tiefgründig, mit einem Hauch von Reduktion, braucht etwas Zeit, offenbart dann einen komplexen Duft nach dunklen Beeren, Tabak und floralen Noten; am Gaumen von grossartiger Saftigkeit, wie ein Biss in einen Korb voll frischer Beeren, keinerlei Holz spürbar, top Tannin, viel Zug, präzis, strukturiert, langanhaltend. Ein finessenreicher Lafon-Rochet, der voller Anmut Lafite küsst."

Jeb Dunnuck: Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Château Lagrange offers up ripe blue and black fruits, spicy wood, smoky tobacco, violets, and graphite on the nose. Based on 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot that will spend 21 months in 50% new French oak, it checks in at 13.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.5. On the palate, it's rich and medium to full-bodied, with a pure, layered, graceful mouthfeel, velvety and integrated tannins, ample mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It's another brilliant wine from this château, which has been making absolutely world-class wines for some time now without the recognition they deserve."

Jeb Dunnuck: The 2025 Château Langoa Barton is based on 45% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Cabernet Franc, checking in at 13.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.55. Darker currants, smoky tobacco, graphite, and tons of violet and floral nuances all shine on the nose, and it has remarkable purity, full-bodied richness, a broad, layered mouthfeel, and ripe, polished tannins on the palate. The finish is a blockbuster. It's probably the greatest Langoa ever."

Wine Advocate: The 2025 Larmande, a blend of 83% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon, is the finest vintage from this Saint-Émilion estate that I've ever tasted. Wafting from the glass with notes of cassis, cherries and wild berries complemented by floral accents, it's medium- to full-bodied, fleshy and supple, with sweet tannins, excellent depth and a long, vibrant finish."

Zu diesem Preis etwas Vergleichbares zu finden, ist nahezu unmöglich, und bedenken Sie, DAVID zeichnet ebenso verantwortlich für den herausragenden 2025 Chateau Larcis Ducasse. 99% Merlot und 1% Cabernet Franc bilden die Cuvee des 2025 CHATEAU LAROQUE. Wir waren zweimal vor Ort und verkosteten gemeinsam mit SUIRE. Ein grandioser Wein, der unglaubliche Frische, Salzigkeit und Energie zeigte, ein Traum, der durch die Frische eher kühl erscheint, aber so viel Ausstrahlung, Dichte und Klasse hat. Schöne Viskosität, mit dunklen Beeren und Kräutern, tiefer Mineralik und schöner salziger Note im Abgang. Auch in diesem Jahr einer der Top-Weine der Appellation.

Vinum: Feine Röstnoten, kühler Ausdruck, florale Noten, Kräuter, am Gaumen leichtfüssig, mit feinen Tanninen, welche die rote Frucht umgarnen, zeigt Leben, Frische, Würze und eine sehr gute Länge. Ein delikater Saint-Emilion, der früh Spass machen dürfte und doch reifen kann."

Jeb Dunnuck: Checking in as a blend of 53% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, and 8% Petit Verdot that's being raised 12 months in 38% new French oak, the 2025 Château Larrivaux offers up beautiful notes of cassis, ripe red fruits, spring flowers, graphite, and tobacco. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, graceful mouthfeel and ultra-fine tannins, with a gorgeous finish. I'd put this up with the finest vintages here."

James Suckling: Medium- to full-bodied, with a foot on the fuller end of the spectrum. Textured but with a linear thread of acidity that makes it a joy to taste. Brilliant wine, with a combination of reduction and texture. Very salty on the finish."

Jeb Dunnuck: Sporting a deep purple hue, the 2025 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion has classic aromatics of cassis, spring flowers, spicy wood, and graphite. Based on 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, and 22% Cabernet Franc, with the Cabernets raised in 50% new and once-used barrels and 5% of the Merlot aged in terracotta amphorae, I love its purity and vibrancy. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, layered mouthfeel, fine, polished tannins, and a great finish. I'd buy it."

James Suckling: Extremely sophisticated and refined, with fine tannins and a long finish. Medium-bodied, polished and pretty. Currant, blackberry and cherry undertones. Seriously crafted. One of the best ever."

Saftig, seidig, sehr elegant, feine Extraktsüße, samtige Tannine, reife Kirschenfrucht im Abgang, gut anhaftend, bereits von Fleck weg zu genießen, verfügt über Länge und großes Verführungspotenzial."

James Suckling: A chiseled, medium- to full-bodied wine combining texture and fruit, with acidity that brings cohesion and depth complemented by good concentration."

Decanter: This wine evinces pleasing refinement, with clean fruit and a composed feel on the palate. Aromas of ripe cherry and blackberry come through clearly, complemented by subtle floral hints of violet, along with touches of vanilla and a faint note of eucalyptus leaf. The attack is supple and well-defined, with a slightly austere edge at this stage that should integrate further with barrel ageing (16 months, 35% new oak). There’s an appealing interplay of red and black fruit, giving the mid-palate a vibrant, lifted character, supported by fine, velvety tannins that lend structure without heaviness. Despite the warmth of the vintage, the wine retains a welcome freshness, bringing tension and precision. The finish is harmonious and clean, if not especially long, but it remains elegant and well-balanced overall."

Jeb Dunnuck: A Merlot-dominant blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc that will spend 15 months in 50% new barrels and amphora, the 2025 Château Le Bon Pasteur offers cassis, exotic cherries, baking spices, and dried flowers on the nose. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, layered, graceful mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. Hitting 14% alcohol, it's beautifully balanced, textured, and graceful, with an already complex, undeniably delicious, sexy style that's impossible to resist. It's one of the top vintages for this château."

Jane Anson: This has got to be one of the most consistent estates in Bordeaux, and again in 2025 is impressive, enjoyable, powerful and concentrated, with lift and kick. You need to give this a few moments in the glass to unfold, because there is a lot of potential and power, then shows saffron, redcurrant, cassis and bilberry fruit, grilled capsicum pepper with a juicy sign off. Harvest September 5 to 22. 23% new oak. Tasted twice. 41hl/ha yield. Clear ageing potential."

Jeb Dunnuck: Cassis, exotic red and blue fruits, spring flowers, graphite, and some chocolaty nuances all emerge from the 2025 Château Le Gay, a beautiful Pomerol based on 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc that will spend 14 months in new barrels. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, graceful mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. It might be one of the finest vintages of this cuvée I've tasted, so hats off to the team here."

Weinwisser: 100 % Merlot, pH 3.79, Alkohol 14 vol%, 20 hl/ha, Lese am 5. und 10.9.2025. Dunkles, tiefgründiges Bouquet, frischer Hanf, getrocknete Kamillenblüte, dunkle Mineralität, frischer schwarzer Pfeffer und rote Beeren. Am dicht verwobenen Gaumen mit samtiger Textur, unglaubliche Energie zeigend, tänzerischer Rasse, kakaoartigem Tanningerüst und engmaschigem Körper. Im kaskadenartigen, aromatischen, nicht enden wollenden Finale Wildkirsche, Graphit sowie Kakaobohne im beeindruckenden Rückaroma. Die Höchstnote zücke ich heute noch nicht, aber weit weg ist er davon nicht mehr entfernt.

2025 CHATEAU LE PIN BEAUSOLEIL ist nun auf dem Markt, ein Meilenstein und der bis dato größte Erfolg für das Ehepaar PROFESSOR MICHAEL HALLEK und DR. INGRID HALLEK. Mehr als 20 Jahre investierte das Ehepaar in ihren Traum eines eigenen Chateaus in Bordeaux. 2004 kaufte HALLEK die heruntergekommene Burg, investierte Unsummen in Gebäude und Technik, legte Rebflächen still, kaufte neues, hervorragendes Terroir hinzu und formte das Chateau zu dem, was es jetzt ist: ein wahres Kleinod. Knapp 7 Hektar umfassen die teils sehr alten Rebflächen aus Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc und Malbec. DUCLOS war auch derjenige, der HALLEK davon abriet, seinen 2023er auf den Markt zu bringen, ein herber finanzieller Verlust, Qualität jedoch steht für den Professor, eine Weltkoryphäe in seinem Fachgebiet, zudem Träger des Bundesverdienstkreuzes, an erster Stelle.

2025 ist ein grandioser Erfolg für LEOVILLE BARTON. Satte 86% Cabernet Sauvignon formen einen irren St. Julien, der nur so strotzt von schwarzen Beeren, Tabak, Kirsche und tiefen Terroirnoten. Die feinkörnigen Tannine, diese Lafite gleiche Graphitnote und dann diese perfekte tarierte Säure, wow. Ein top BARTON, der in der Presse hoch gelobt wird. Bewertungen bis 99 PUNKTE, mehrfach 98 PUNKTE und unzählige 97 PUNKTE, das ist nahe der Perfektion.
