Am eleganten Gaumen mit geradliniger Ausrichtung, engmaschigem Tanningerüst, stützender Rasse, gute Spannung – ein seriöser Zweitwein. Im gebündelten Finale Preiselbeere, Eisenkraut und mehlige Adstringenz."

VINUM: "Tiefgründig, kühl im Ausdruck, glasklare Carbernet-Frucht, Brombeere, Kirsche, Cassis, Veilchen, steinig unterlegt; druckvoll am Gaumen, hat Fleisch am Knochen, bleibt elegant, seidiges Tannin umgarnt die Frucht, im Abgang ausgesprochen lang, endet auf rote Beeren und Lakritze. Ein ausgezeichneter, charmanter Haut-Bailly, der in jeder Phase seines Lebens Spass machen wird."

JAMES SUCKLING: "This is a juicy and savory red with ripe blue-fruit and violet aromas. It’s medium-bodied with supple tannins. Good concentration of fruit. Fine finish."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Already bottled, the 2023 Haut Bergey Blanc, a blend of 95% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% Sémillon, offers an elegant, fruity bouquet of pear, white peach, lemon, lemongrass and herbs, followed by a rich and round, layered and textural palate with good concentration at the core and a long, mouthwatering finish."

WEINWISSER: "52.3 % Merlot, 38.6 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 9.1 % Cabernet Franc, 50 bis 55 hl/ha. Dicht verwobenes Bouquet, zarte Anklänge an frischgepflückte schwarze Johannisbeere, Sandelholz und Holundergelee. Im zweiten Ansatz Schattenmorellensaft, heller Tabak und getrocknete Küchenkräuter. Am sehr komplexen Gaumen mit samtiger Textur, perfekt ausgereiftes, engmaschiges und kakaoartiges Tanningerüst, balancierte Rasse und ein Körper wie ein Modelathlet. Im konzentrierten gaaaaanz langhaltenden Finale ein Korb mit schwarzen Beeren, Schlehensaft, dunkler tiefschürfender Mineralik und königlicher Adstringenz. Eine Meisterleistung dieses Jahr – ganz nah an der Bestnote. "

JEB DUNNUCK: "Another brilliant wine from Margaux, the 2023 Château Kirwan reveals a deep blue/purple hue to go with a nicely oaked profile of ripe black fruits, leafy herbs, iron, violets, and spice. It's balanced, medium to full-bodied, has a supple, layered mouthfeel, remarkable purity, and a great finish. As with most 2023s, it's going to shine with just a few years of bottle age."
