Und nicht zu vergessen, liebe Weinfreunde, das ist ein 5tes Gewächs. Dieses Gut verfügt über ein hervorragendes Terroir, die Hälfte der Cabernets stehen auf Kalkstein-Kreideböden. Das ist eine absolute Ausnahme für ein klassifiziertes Gewächs in Pauillac erklärte uns Claire. 32hl/ha Ertrag, 35% des Blends wurden in Barriques, 30% in Betontanks gereift. Die Aromatik dieses Weins ist faszinierend. Dunkle Beeren, Cassis, Speck, dabei saftig und mit viel Grip durch das Terroir. Ein Top-Pauillac zu einem Preis, der Großflaschen nahezu aufdrängt.

Decanter: Raspberry and rose petal aromas, creamy strawberry scents too. A lively kick of acidity starts this expression before focusing and revealing grippy but clean and cool blackcurrant and cherry fruit with a stony, graphite and flint undercurrent which leaves the finish fresh and clean. I like the purity and detail on show. Refined with nothing over the top. Very transparent, and very approachable too. Serious but classic. Very impressive this year. A good pick!"

James Suckling: A very fine-tannined young red with blackberries, black currants and crushed stone character. It is medium-bodied with a lovely finish. Very classy for a second wine. 50% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon, 6% petit verdot and 4% cabernet franc."

Liebe Weinfreunde, 2025 CHEATEAU HAUT BAILLY ist ein Traum von einem Wein und für uns der BESTE Jahrgang, den wir jemals auf diesem Chateau verkostet haben. VERONIQUE SANDERS hat hier zusammen mit ihrem Team ganze Arbeit geleistet. Unzählige Bewertungen bis 98, 99 oder 100 PUNKTE bestätigen die herausragende Qualität dieses Pessac, der sich so ungemein schmeichelnd und charmant verkostete, dabei aber so frisch und voller Zug und Spannung war. Die Mengen waren mit 26hl/ha leider sehr klein, die Qualität aber herausragend. So geht Wein, und so spielt großes Terroir im Einklang mit einem gefühlvollen Händchen zusammen. Kompliment an Veronique und das Team. Wir haben diesen Wein auf unserer persönlichen BUCKET-LIST.

Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Feine Herzkirschen, ein Hauch von Brombeerkonfit, kandierte Orangenzesten, einladendes Bukett. Komplex, extraktsüß, elegant, reife Tannine, gute Frische, bleibt haften, sicheres Reifepotenzial, ein eleganter Speisenbegleiter."

Chateau Haut Bergey wurde 1991 von Sylvaine Garcin-Cathiard, der Schwester des Besitzers von Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte, erworben. Seitdem wurde keine Summe gescheut, um Haut Bergey qualitativ nach oben zu bringen. Denis Dubourdieu ist neben Michel Rolland als Rotweinberater zuständig für die Weißen von Haut Bergey. 3 Hektar stehen unter 70% Sauvignon Blanc und 30% Semillon-Reben und erbringen mit

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: The 2025 Haut-Brion Blanc shimmies out with energetic notes of lime cordial, fresh grapefruit, and lemon curd, leading to suggestions of orange blossoms, sea spray, and yuzu zest with a touch of struck flint. The full-bodied palate is so satiny and seductive with electric citrus fruit flavors and minerally accents, finishing very long and fragrant. Magic. The blend is 53% Sauvignon Blanc and 47% Sémillon. The alcohol is 14.55%. It was aged in French oak barrels (45% new). This was tasted as a bottled wine."

James Suckling: Structured yet refined, with polished tannins that run the length of the wine. Dark berries, smoke and cedar on the nose and palate. Medium-bodied with very integrated tannins. Classy second wine from Haut Brion."

James Suckling: Very lemony, with botanicals and spices on the nose and palate. It's medium-bodied with tangy acidity and a long and flavorful finish. Energetic. 76.5% semillon and 23.5% sauvignon blanc."

Das 2025er Ergebnis freut uns ungemein für das Team von Haut Brion, mehrere 99 und 100 Punkte Bewertungen adeln diesen Premier Cru zu einem der besten Weine des Jahrganges. Betrachtet man den IPT level von über 100, ein Paramater, der die Konzentration der Tannine beschreibt, kann man sich vorstellen, wie komplex dieser Wein ist. Das sind Werte, die normalerweise nur in Regionen wir dem Napa Valley erreicht werden. Davon aber abgesehen, die Dichte, die dunklen, schwarzen Waldbeeren, die exotischen Gewürze und Kräuter, all dies eingebettet in diese tragende Struktur, das ist Premier Cru level. Wir lieben Haut Brion und der 2025er nimmt einen Rang ganz weit vorne ein. Gratulation!

James Suckling: Medium- to full-bodied with a broad expression. Focused, cohesive and well balanced, with precise tannins."

Jane Anson: Inky purple in colour, love the grilled coffee bean that is gourmet edged but the grip of the limestone stops it from being overdone, and the (new addition) of Cabernet Franc gives the most lovely iris and violet lift. Delicious. 20% whole bunch fermentation, plus massal selection of Cabernet Franc Hubert de Boüard consultant."

Decanter: Intensely fragrant on the nose. Grippy and concentrated from the start, big and ample in the mouth but at the same time it’s fresh and lifted - cool and stony rather than overly chewy and too ripe. I quite like the serious nature and lovely mineral base. Still tight but this will soften. Good frame and energy. Ageing 30% new oak. A yield of 22hl/ha on 5ha."

James Suckling: Expressive, fruity and quite generous. Loads of red berries and sweet cherries on the nose with a floral touch. Medium-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Delicious pulp character in the finish."

James Suckling: Gorgeous aromas of blackberries, black olives, coffee beans and dark chocolate follow through to a medium to full body with creamy and open-grained tannins. Juicy and savory with a flavorful finish. Balanced and vivid. Excellent potential. A blend of 74% merlot and 26% cabernet franc."

Weinwisser: 85 % Merlot, 15 % Cabernet Franc. Delikates blaubeeriges Bouquet, verführerische Veilchen, Lakritze, Earl-Grey-Tee. Am komplexen Gaumen mit cremiger Textur, balancierter Rasse; geradlinig, straff ausgerichtet, mittlerer Körper. Im gebündelten Finale verschlankt sich der Wein und endet mit mehliger Adstringenz. So gut wie noch nie und ein absoluter Must Buy dieses Jahr!

Decanter: Great florality on the nose, juicy, succulent, crisp and ripe at the same time. This has energy and life, still compact and fully tannic but I like the confidence and upfront nature. They haven’t held back here but managed a fun, fruity, grippy and full of life style with refined edges and plenty of underlying power. Mint, liquorice, tobacco and wet stones on the finish. Very good. 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Carmenere complete the blend."

Weinwisser: 90 % Merlot, 10 % Cabernet Franc, Alkohol 13.8 vol%, Produktion 5.000 Flaschen. Dicht verwobenes Bouquet, reife Heidelbeere, Heidekraut, schwarzer Pfeffer und betörender Veilchenduft. Am satten Gaumen mit cremiger Textur, engmaschigem Tanningerüst, genialem Zug und Druck, vibrierender Rasse und trainiertem Körper. Im konzentrierten, aromatischen, langen Finale ein Korb mit blauen Beeren, Lakritze und feinmehliger Adstringenz. Gehört auch in diesem Jahr in die Top Ten der besten Zweitweine."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Violets, lilies, chocolate, espresso, plums, black cherries, and truffle aromatics already pop in the perfume. The palate is where the action really takes place. With just a swirl, and sip, you find concentrated layers of fleshy, opulent, creamy-textured, fruits, berries, chocolate, wet earth, and espresso. The complex, and powerful, velvet-drenched, opulent, lengthy finish continues along the same theme with a vibrant, polish to the hedonistic end notes that keep everything going long after your glass has been finished. The wine is produced from a blend of 90% Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc, 14.5% ABV. The harvest took place September 4 - September 12. Drink from 2030-2065."
