THE WINE ADVOCATE: "The 2024 Franc-Mayne is one of the vintage's overachievers. Bursting with aromas of blackberries, cherries and petals, this 100% Merlot cuvée (young Cabernet Franc vines haven't yet entered into production) is medium to full-bodied, layered and impressively textural, with lively acids and a broad, expansive finish."

ANSON: "Plush, impressive colour, with medium to full intensity inky plum. Good quality, feels like a true En Primeur sample with its fragrance, austerity, well built tannins, impressive, sappy, savoury and understated black fruits. ANSON: "Medium to full intensity deep plum colour, lovely spice, textured graphite, pumice, powerful and sculpted bright fruits, this is thoroughly enjoyable, a real success in a vintage.Triaud family owners, 34 hl/ha yield."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Flowers, orange rind, crushed rocks, licorice, and espresso nuances are what you initially notice. The medium-bodied palate is bright, soft, and fresh, with a core of juicy cherries, and red plums, with a salty-chocolate accent in the finish. The wine is produced from blending 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2028-2040."

FALSTAFF: "Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, breitere Randaufhellung. Zart kräuterwürzig unterlegte Zwetschkenfrucht, ein Hauch von Kirschen, kandierte Orangenzesten. Saftig, rote KIrschen, dezente Süße, bleibt haften, ein feinwürziger Begleiter bei Tisch."

FALSTAFF: "Kräftiges Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Ockerrandaufhellung. Zart nach Larkitze, schwarze Kirschen, etwas Nougat und Kokos. Schlank, rotbeerige Frucht, frisch, runde Tannine, seidiger Abgang, ein unkomplizierter Speisenbegleiter."

VINUM: "Tiefgründig, kühl, dezente Rauchnote, dunkle Kirschen, Brombeeren, Pflaumen, darüber florale Töne; eleganter Gaumen, kernig, dicht, zupackende, jedoch feine Tannine, sehr gute Säure, im Abgang von eindrücklicher Länge. Einmal mehr sehr ausgewogen und mit der gewohnten Eleganz."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Quite floral in nature, the wine is medium-bodied, with a fresh, fruity character allowing you to experience all the cherries, plums, licorice, chocolate, and vibrancy, just about on release. The finish is focused, clean, elegant, and fresh. The wine blends 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2028-2044."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Currants, blackberries, black currants, licorice, and espresso form the core of this wine. Medium-bodied, almost creamy in texture, with loads of sweet currants, mint, licorice, and espresso in the mid-palate, and in the finish. The wine blends 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, and 9% Petit Verdot. 13% ABV. Drink from 2029-2045."

FALSTAFF: "Kräftiges Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Frische rote Waldbeeren, ein Hauch von Himbeeren und roten Kirschen, Nuancen von Orangenzesten, einladendes Bukett. Saftig, elegant, feine Fruchtsüße, integrierte Säurestuktur, harmonisch und bereits sehr zugänglich."

VINUM: "Wow, was für ein Duft, tiefgründig, mineralisch, würzig, rote und dunkle Beeren, Rauch; am Gaumen seidenweich, top Tanninqualität, sehr gut strukturiert, elegant, mit Rasse, Schliff und Länge. Einmal mehr hervorragend."

VINUM: "Rubinrot; fruchtig im Duft, kräuterwürzig, Himbeeren, Johannisbeeren, steinige Untertöne; saftig am Gaumen, deutlich leichtfüssiger und frischer als in warmen Jahren, knackige Frucht, markante feine Tannine umgarnen; der Wein ist erstaunlich langanhaltend, endet salin. Stilistisch voll auf meiner Linie."

ANSON: "Fragrant aromatics on the opening, grated coconut, citrus, lime zest, soft ginger, white pear, this is great quality, sappy and moreish. 50% barrels, 50% stainless steel, 1.8ha of clay limestone, Harvest 5 to 11 September. Small part from Sancerre massal selections, 52h/h yield, Lafleur team."

ANSON: "Gorgeous dark ruby colour with vivid reflections, slow and steady reveal of grilled earth, savoury rose bud, peony, black tea and floral Cabernet finesse. This is a little softer than the recent exceptional vintages of Gruaud, but the fragrant aromatics have a ton of charm, and this shows skilful construction. Harvest 27 September to 8 October, 3.55pH, 31hl/h yield, slap bang on the appellation average, organic certified. 40% of production in this 1st wine. 95% new oak for ageing."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Like walking into a flower shop with cherries and plums scattered across the floor, the wine is silky, pure, elegant, and fresh. There are hints of chocolate, plums, and black cherries, along with truffles and a touch of salt on the backend of the refined, graceful, medium-bodied palate. This is an insider's secret Pomerol. The production averages only 500 cases per vintage. If you are a fan of Pomerol and want to try something new, check it out. The wine blends 80% Merlot, with 20% Cabernet Franc.13.5% ABV.
