Chateau Margaux - Pavillon Blanc 2025

Jeb Dunnuck: All Sauvignon Blanc raised in 20% new barriques, the 2025 Château Margaux Pavillon Blanc checks in at 14% alcohol with a pH of 3.14. It has a riper-than-usual nose of citrus, honeyed lemon, white flowers, and chalky minerality, and on the palate, it's rich, pure, and concentrated, with remarkable depth and focus. As always, this is a brilliant, singular, absolutely riveting expression of Sauvignon Blanc."

James Suckling: A complete sauvignon blanc with sliced pear, apple and lemon aromas and flavors with a full body and a polished texture that is caressing and beautiful. It is crunchy and a bit richer than many Pavillon Blancs."

Decanter: Clementines, grapefruit, white pear, chamomile and elderflower on the nose. Gorgeous zesty appeal - bright and focused, upfront with a tangy freshly picked green apple core. Succulent and almost sweet with a dollop of lemon sherbet and pineapple but with such clear and crystalline acidity. Intense and concentrated, extremely rich but lifted by the acidity. Definitely has an opulence to this - it’s wide, impactful and long lasting on the finish with peach and apricot notes. No aggressive acidity, more fresh and soft fruit but with real mass. Gorgeous, juicy and just makes you smile. What a wonderful wine. A yield of 16hl/ha. 3.14pH. Harvest 18-22 August."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: The 2025 Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux sails out of the glass with notes of honey-drizzled white peaches, juicy pears, and passion fruit, plus nuances of beeswax and elderflower with a waft of allspice. The medium- to full-bodied palate delivers a wonderfully crisp backbone with a satiny texture and intense orchard and tropical fruit layers, finishing long and spicy. This is 100% Sauvignon Blanc. It has a pH of 3.14, and the alcohol is 14%. The yield was 16 hl/ha."

The Wine Cellar Insider: White peach, flowers, pineapples, orange rind, roasted nuts, and crisp green apples permeate the aromatic profile. The palate is juicy, crisp, and loaded with a blend of tropical fruits, and sweet, juicy citrus, finishing with the perfect balance between opulence, hedonism, and freshness. The wine is produced from 100% Sauvignon Blanc.14% ABV. Harvesting took place from August 18 - August 22. Yields were only 16 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2027-2040."

Vinum: Exotische Früchte, Weinbergpfirsich, Grapefruit, Litschi, auch nussige Noten im Duft2028; im Auftakt cremig, rund, die Säure wirkt straff, verleiht dem Muskelpaket viel Zug und Frische, vertikal, voller Spannung, salzig und mit ausgezeichneter Länge ist das ein reichhaltiger und dennoch eleganter Pavillon Blanc, der sehr gut reifen dürfte."

Falstaff: Helles Grüngelb, Silberreflexe. Feine Nuancen von Stachelbeeren und weißem Pfirsich, ein Hauch von Passionsfrucht, Lemongras, florale Noten. Komplex, saftig, weiße Tropenfrucht, finessenreiche Struktur, mineralisch, dezente Süße im Abgang, delikat im Abgang, salziger Touch im Nachhall, gute Länge, ein facettenreicher Speisenbegleiter."
