Jeb Dunnuck: A Merlot-dominant blend of 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Petit Verdot, the 2025 Château Lespault-Martillac is a gorgeous effort that's well worth your time and money. The nose reveals notes of ripe blackcurrants, spicy wood, and savory tobacco and herbal nuances. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, layered, graceful mouthfeel, terrific balance, and a great finish. It checks in at 13% alcohol with a pH of 3.61."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Flowers, smoke, black cherries, and background notes of blue fruits are easy to read in the perfume. On the palate, the wine is creamy, fresh, and juicy, with gorgeous, ripe berries topped with just a hint of chocolate. This is already easy to taste, and will provide pleasure for more than a decade from here. The wine is a blend of 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot. Drink from 2028-2042."

James Suckling: This is medium- to full-bodied with firm, granular tannins, dark fruit, good length and a focused finish."

Jane Anson: Coffee, roasted beans, cocoa and dusted almonds, enjoyable, good lift, this is savoury but with a ton of fruit character. A clay-dominant vineyard, Merlot dominated wine, 3.61pH. Harvest September 16 to 23, 30% new oak. In organic conversion."

Decanter: I enjoy the ripe plum and cassis aromas and flavours from this wine whose powerful palate exhibits some tannic tightness, ending on a floral stem note with uplifting red berry fruit in the medium finish."

Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zart nach Zwetschken, Cassis und Nougat, einladendes Bukett, zart mit Edelholz unterlegt. Gute Balance, rote Kirschen, feine Tannine, frisch und anhaftend, eleganter Stil."

Wine Advocate: The 2025 Lespault-Martillac reveals a smoky, well-integrated oak bouquet with notes of dark berries, spices and dark wild fruit. Medium- to full-bodied, round and sapid, it’s dense and structured, built around youthful yet refined tannins. The finish is long and spicy, though marked by a certain mass and structure, reflecting the vintage’s inherent density. This is a blend of 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Lespault-Martillac Rouge jumps with vivacious notes of fresh black plums, boysenberries, and anise, giving way to hints of forest floor and spice box. Medium-bodied, the palate is silky and lively with bright blue and black fruit and a spicy finish. The blend is 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot. The alcohol is 13%."
