Decanter: Really floral on the nose, expressive with ripe red and black fruit, incense perfumed scents and a rich headiness with such aromatic purity. Supple and velvety, round and lively with quite a delicate style here where the focus is on the clarity of the blueberry fruit and the lifted aspects rather than fleshiness or power. Almost understated, a word not often used with Pape. A soft salty, wet stone and chalky aspect on the finish. Definitely fresh with lots of energy here. Elegant and precise with a soft chew on the finish and ripe fruit. 1% Petit Verdot completes the blend. 3.68pH. A yield of 29hl/ha. Ageing 85% in barrels (1/3 new) and 15% in foudres. Harvest 3-25 September."

James Suckling: This is enveloping, with a broad textural element running throughout. It’s bright and incisive, yet with a blanket of fruit that extends across the palate. Flavorful and long. A blend of 56% sauvignon blanc, 30% semillon and 14% sauvignon gris. Aged in barrels, foudres, concrete, amphorae and stainless steel."

Jeb Dunnuck: Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Arômes De Pavie has a gorgeous, Cabernet-like nose of red and black fruits, smoky tobacco, crushed stone, and chocolaty, truffly nuances. It's rich and powerful on the palate, with full-bodied richness, a concentrated, layered mouthfeel, flawless balance, and a great finish. You'd be excused for mistaking this for the grand vin of a few years ago, and it's more in the style of the classic Pavie than the Grand Vin in 2025."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Petit Gravet Ainé needs a little swirling to coax out notes of black raspberries, red currants, and fresh blueberries, plus suggestions of pencil shavings, rose essence, and bay leaves. The medium-bodied palate delivers firm, grainy tannins and savory-laced red fruits, finishing with a refreshing lift. Classic, great Cab Franc-for lovers of this variety! The blend is 90% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. The alcohol is 13.5%."

James Suckling: Extremely floral, with aromas of dried honeysuckle, white roses, black currants, raspberries and orange peel. Medium-bodied with tight and focused tannins that are very compact and polished and a persistent finish. Just a touch of salt in the undertone. The cabernet really makes this direct and long. A blend of 60% merlot, 32% cabernet franc and 8% cabernet sauvignon."

James Suckling: A juicy, well-balanced and seductive red blend of 95% merlot and 5% cabernet franc. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and fresh acidity. It’s fresh at the center with a vivid finish."

Decanter: Dark blackcurrant with liquorice elements on the nose, smells fragrant and expressive. Juicy and fleshy, but round and softly filling, I like the fleshy, crushed stone aspect to this. Not trying too hard but giving a lot of generous fruit, salty tannins and still length. Great acidity, This will round out nicely.Easy drinking and will age."

James Suckling: Well composed, structured and nicely framed, with a medium to full body and fine, firm tannins. Textural and slightly chalky on the palate. Solid and focused, with a long, driven finish. A elegant, refine and holistic wine. The shows depth structre and finesse. 65% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, 3% cabernet franc, and 2% petit verot."

Jane Anson: This is highly appealing, a little more Merlot in the blend and certainly it gives a ripe roundness but the location of these Merlots always adds structure also. Energy, black fruit, campfire, very enjoyable. 50% new oak. 3.67 pH."
