Decanter: Ageing in 50% new oak, this well-known Graves red opens with a pretty, floral nose, combining elegance with charm: damson, blackberry and blackcurrant, alongside notes reminiscent of quetsche tart and plum preserves. The palate carries a tannic presence, yet remains balanced overall. Slight austerity on the finish, but this already feels less pronounced on a second tasting, suggesting potential for refinement with time. A successful and promising wine."

Jeb Dunnuck: Darker cherries, graphite, spicy herbs, and some leather nuances all define the 2025 Château Charmail, a consistent Haut-Médoc that always delivers. It's medium-bodied on the palate, with fine tannins, good overall balance, and a good finish. It should easily be outstanding and have two decades of longevity."

Jeb Dunnuck: Ripe cherries, currants, tobacco, and assorted violet and floral notes all define the 2025 Château Chauvin, a beautiful Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé based on 73% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon that will spend 14 to 16 months in 43% new oak. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, with a fresh, focused mouthfeel, ripe and nicely polished tannins, and a great finish. It checks in at 13% alcohol with a pH of 3.6. This is a beautiful 2025 in the making, if not a real superstar."

Chateau Cheval Blanc wurde mit Legenden wie dem berühmten 47-er zu einer der Referenzen des Weins, nicht nur in Bordeaux, sondern weltweit. Zweimal waren wir auf CHATEAU CHEVAL BLANC zur Verkostung des Jahrganges 2025, und zweimal waren wir zutiefst beeindruckt von diesem grandiosen Wein. Dabei stellte der Jahrgang das Team von PIERRE OLIVIER CLOUET auf eine harte Probe. Die lange, mehrmonatige Trockenperiode kostete enorm Erträge, sodass letztlich eine Mini-Menge von lediglich 15hl/ha übrigblieb. Das sind Sauternes-Erträge und weniger als die Hälfte einer Normalernte für CHATEAU CHEVAL BLANC! 200 kg Beeren wurden benötigt um 100 Liter Wein zu produzieren. (Normalwert liegt ca. bei 130–160 kg Trauben für 100 Liter Wein.) Die Beerengewichte lagen bei 0,7 g! Das sind beeindruckende wie schockierende Zahlen. Kein Zweitwein, alles ging in den Erstwein, der, so mutmaßt man, in einer Auflage von nur 5.000 Kisten auf den Markt kommen wird. Ein Release, die gesamte Menge kommt auf den Markt, das war´s… Die Bewertungen sind enorm hoch und bestätigen unsere Aussage von Mitte April, lange vor jedem Bewerter – siehe Instagram. Unsere damalige Aussage: „…I can just recommend all of our customer to get on this wine...” Dies ist einer der Weine des Jahrganges. Derart präzise gezeichnet, mit niedrigem Alkoholgehalt von sage und schreibe 12,7% – Dank dem Regen vor der Lese – konturierte Säure und einem Charme und einer Frische, die nur CHATEAU CHEVAL BLANC zeigt. Das ist ein Hammer von einem 2025er, der unbedingt auf Ihrem Einkaufszettel stehen muss.

James Suckling: A fine and fresh red with blackberries, graphite and a hint of orange peel. It’s medium-bodied and refined with a fine texture tannins and a crisp finish."

Jane Anson: Classic St Estèphe in terms of its high tannins and powerful colour extraction, cloves, cassis, brambled hedgerow fruits, austere, powerful, good balance, enjoyable and well put together. 30% new oak for ageing. Chris Cardon owner."

Chateau Climens (Zweitwein Cypres de Climens) wurde erstmals 1547 in einem Vertrag schriftlich erwähnt, dort wurde der Staatsanwalt Guirault Roborel als Erbe der Ländereien benannt. 2025 CHATEAU CLINET hits all the right buttons, würde man auf Englisch sagen. Denn das war für uns der beste CLINET seit vielen Jahren. Power und Kraft hatten auch andere Jahrgänge zuvor, noch nie aber arbeitete RONAN LABORDE mit derart wenig Holz. Und das Ergebnis ist beeindruckend. Reife und Tiefe und Power, nun aber ohne den Toast von neuem Holz. Dafür aber Massen an Gewürzen, Kräutern und diese vibrierende Energie durch diese enorme Frische der feinen Tannin/Säure-Struktur. Im Abgang Salzigkeit und Terroirnoten, dann wieder dichte Frucht. 2025 CLINET ist ein super Wein und das zum Vorjahrespreis. Kompliment RONAN und Gratulation zu mehrfach 98 PUNKTEN!

Jeb Dunnuck: A classy, focused beauty from the upper limestone plateau on the Right Bank, the 2025 Château Clos De Boüard relies on more Cabernet Franc than usual and shows it in its gorgeous perfume of ripe black cherries, framboise, graphite, spring flowers, and chalky minerality. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, with ripe tannins and beautiful overall balance."

Beim NEIPPERG-Klassiker geht es um Charme, Eleganz und Geschmeidigkeit. Mit dem Jahrgang 2025 jedoch kommt hier eine gehörige Portion Frische, aber auch Power mit ins Spiel. Und genau das macht ORATOIRE im Jahrgang 2025 spannend. 80% Merlot im Zusammenspiel mit 20% Cabernet Franc formen einen wirklich tiefen, aber auch frischen Wein, der bereits bei der Verkostung richtig Spaß machte. Top-Bewertungen bis hin zu 95 und 96 PUNKTEN sind ein Kompliment für LUDOVIC VON NEIPPERG, der hier die Zügel in der Hand hat. GROßFLASCHENPFLICHT!

Jeb Dunnuck: A blend of 78% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot that's being raised 13 months in 60% new barrels with the balance in once-used oak, the 2025 Château Clos De Sarpe comes from one of my favorite estates in Saint-Emilion, and this barrel sample is absolutely riveting. A gorgeous perfume of cassis, liquid violets, graphite, and smoky tobacco nuances all shine on the nose, and on the palate, it's ripe, polished, and rounded, with the fresh, pure, focused style of the vintage and beautiful richness and depth. It checks in at 14.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.35. Tasted multiple times, it never failed to impress."

Decanter: Bright and expressive nose, full of perfumed roses, smells gorgeous. Round and filling, chewy tannins give a really lively and massy expression but with cool liquorice, wet stone and slate aspects around the side. It’s calm, certainly not as acidic and lively as some, but I love the confidence and completeness of this wine. Yummy and just really moreish. Excellent structure and extraction without being too much."

Wir erinnern uns noch an 1990 CLOS DU CLOCHER, der uns damals Flasche um Flasche begeistert hat, lange ist es her. Aber liebe Weinfreunde, die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt, denn der 2025 CLOS DU CLOCHER ist der würdige Nachfolger, ein POMEROL, der sich gewaschen hat. 78 % Merlot und 22 % Cabernet Franc in Reinstform. Saftig, beerig, feinste Tannine, kreidige Terroirnoten, eingerahmt mit Gewürzen, Holz und Graphit, ein Mega-Wein. Sehen Sie sich bitte einmal diese Bewertungen an, das hat dieses Château noch nie zuvor gesehen. Fünf mal 96 PUNKTE, einmal 97 PUNKTE. Gratulation!

Jeb Dunnuck: A beautiful, classy Fronsac, the 2025 Clos Du Roy is based on 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc and reveals ripe cherries, cassis, classy oak, and graphite on the nose. It's medium-bodied on the palate, with a pure, focused mouthfeel, fine tannins, and outstanding length."

Falstaff: Helles Gelbgrün, Silberreflexe. Zarter Hauch von Lemongras, frische Stachelbeeren, etwas Pfirsich und Blütenhonig, einladendes Bukett. Saftig, feines Steinobst, frischer Säurebogen, rieslinghafte Statur, mineralisch und anhaftend, ein lebendiger, anregender Speisenbegleiter."

Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Charmantes, florales Bukett, reife Waldbeeren unterlegt, zart nach Gewürznelken, einladende Nase. Saftig, kraftvoll und komplex, Brombeernoten, feiner Schokotouch, mineralischer Nachhall, hat Potenzial."

Zwei Mal waren wir auf Chateau Clos Fourtet und kamen aus dem Staunen nicht mehr heraus. Mehrfach mit 99 und 98 Punkten bewertet, liegt hier ein Traum St. Emilion in den Fässern. Leider nicht allzu viel, denn die Erträge lagen bei 28hl/ha. Ein konzentrierter St. Emilion, der zu 82% aus Merlot besteht, zeigte sich derart elegant, rund, fein und poliert, dass man den Verkostungsschluck am liebsten getrunken hätte. Espresso, Cappuccino, Mineralik und Salzigkeit, dieser Wein hat das Zeug zum 3-digit score.

Decanter: Gorgeous aromas of orange, clementine and grapefruit with orange blossom, honey, straw and salted caramel vanilla. Juicy and so lively, lifted and almost sharp which perfectly counters the sugary mid-palate with buttery popcorn, butterscotch, pineapple and apricot fruit. I love the mineral, flinty finish. Sharp, bright, tangy and rich but ends clean and focused with impressive attention to detail and such focused purity on show. 140g/l residual sugar (one of the lowest in the appellation this year). A yield of 14hl/ha on 6ha. Ageing 90% in barrels (1/3 new) and 10% in others."

Jeb Dunnuck: Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Clos L'Eglise is a beast of a Pomerol with a powerful nose of ripe black fruits, liquid violets, gravelly earth, and chocolate. On the palate, it brings remarkable power, full-bodied richness, ripe, building, nicely integrated tannins, a dense, stacked mid-palate, and a great finish. It's a bomb of a Pomerol that's going to need some time."

Jeb Dunnuck: Coming from limestone soils, the 2025 Clos Lunelles is just brilliant, with red and black fruits, a liquid rock-like minerality, spice, and flowery nuances on the nose. It has an incredibly pronounced limestone character that runs through every layer of the wine. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with ripe, chalky tannins and an almost salty character on the finish. I continue to think this is one of the greatest wines in the appellation."

Der Pessac Wein aus dem NEIPPERG Portfolio, der mit sage und schreibe 14,90 Euro mehr als ein Bargain ist. Und liebe Weinfreunde, das bei zwei Bewertungen bis 94 PUNKTEN. 60 % Cabernet geben diesem Wein enormen Zug und Struktur. Sohnemann LUDOVIC von NEIPPERG hat hier ein wirklich feines Händchen gezeigt. Zudem hat er den Anteil an neuem Holz deutlich reduziert auf nunmehr 25%. Wir müssen Sie hier fast zu Ihrem Glück zwingen, GROßFLASCHEN von diesem Wein werden Ihnen über viele Jahre tolle Momente bescheren, zudem haben Sie immer ein perfektes Geschenk für Freunde.

Weinwisser: 60 % Sauvignon Blanc, 40 % Sémillon, 25 hl/ha. Duftiges Bouquet, reife Nektarine, weißer Pfeffer und Orangenblüten. Am saftigen Gaumen mit cremiger Textur, balancierter Rasse und schlankem Körper. Im aromatischen Finale weiße Blüten, Mandarinenzeste."

Jane Anson: The inky glass staining colour is immediately apparent here, and this holds the fingerprint of limestone lightly, very much a juicy, slate-strewn, tiptoe through the palate kind of wine, with joy and lift, great stuff that is just joyful. Will take a few years to fully soften, but there is so much reserved energy waiting to be released. Highly floral violet and peony, rose stem. This is one to look out for, a buy for me. Malbec and very high Cabernet Franc, clear austerity at this early moment but will be worth the wait for limestone junkies. Harvest September 1/3 in barrels of which 10% is new. 3.30 pH. James Suckling: Well-composed, structured and focused with dark berry character and some spices on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied with plush tannins. Seductive, serious finish."

Jeb Dunnuck: An equal split of Cabernet Franc and Merlot that will spend 18 months in 70% new French oak, the 2025 Clos Saint-Julien is rockingly good. Ripe currants, black cherries, Asian spice, chocolate, and meaty nuances all define the bouquet, and on the palate, it's full-bodied, broad, deep, and layered."

Vinum: Reife, expressive Frucht, Pflaumen, heisse Waldbeeren über Vanilleeis, dazu Kräuterspeck und kalkige Untertöne; reichhaltig am Gaumen, fast schon zwei Mund voll Wein, satte Frucht, sensationelle Tanninqualität, kalkig geprägt, der Wein zeigt Rubensformen, schreitet jedoch elegant übers Parkett; im Abgang langanhaltend, endet auf Waldbeeren und einen Touch von Mokka. Ausgezeichnet."

Vinum: Strahlende Frucht, expressiv, darüber florale Noten, ein zauberhafter Duft; saftiger Gaumen, ungemein fruchtig, druckvoll, dabei hochelegant, perfekt reifes Tannin, stimmige Säure, würzig, mit Rasse und Schliff im Abgang. Ein hervorragender Corbin, der früh verführen dürfte und doch reifen kann."

2025 CHATEAU COS D´ESTOURNEL ist nun auf dem Markt und das mit 116,50 Euro unter Vorjahrespreis, kurz zur Erinnerung: 2022 lag er bei 255,00 Euro. Wir waren am 21.04. persönlich vor Ort, um die gesamte Palette an Weiß- und Rotweinen zu verkosten, was insofern interessant ist, als wir binnen weniger Stunden die drei St. Estephe-Protagonisten Chateau Montrose, Chateau Calon Segur und CHATEAU COS D´ESTOURNEL verkosten konnten. Und was sollen wir sagen, Terroir ist eben Terroir und davon hat COS genügend und dies auf Top-Level. Denn genau das war der Schlüssel zum Erfolg im trockenen Jahrgang 2025, der Böden mit perfektem Wassermanagement benötigte. Die Lese ergab immerhin noch 26hl/ha, kein Standard-Level, angesichts des Jahrganges dennoch respektabel. Denn 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot und 1% Petit Verdot wurden hier zu einem Traumwein assembliert. Schwarze Kirsche, Cappuccino, Nugat, Orangenzeste, alles cremig, trotzdem straff proportioniert und das bei lediglich 13,3% Alkohol. Diese Länge gepaart mit knackiger Salzigkeit im Abgang, so etwas haben wir auf diesem Gut seit Jahren nicht erlebt, Gratulation! Kein Wunder, dass hier neben 100 Punkten unzählige 99-Punkte-Bewertungen auf dem Papier stehen. 6 Flaschen in der Original-Holzkiste zu 699,00 Euro werden Ihnen in einigen Jahren unglaublich viel Freude bereiten. 2025 ist für CHATEAU COS D´ESTOURNEL ein riesengroßer Erfolg!

James Suckling: An incredible wine with electrifying acidity and great depth and concentration. It’s full-bodied and full of character, showing fresh and dried citrus, then honeysuckle and other white flowers. The palate takes off with bright, intense acidity. A pH of just over 3 gives a unique combination of tangy acidity and ripe fruit. Special white. 56% sauvignon blanc and 44% semillon. Best ever?"

Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zart nach Gewürznelken, schwarze Herzkirschen, feine Nuancen von Zwetschken, ein Hauch von Edelholz, kandierte Mandarinenzesten unterlegt. Saftig, elegant, rote Frucht am Gaumen, feine Tannine, mineralisch-salzig, gute Frische, ein animierender Speisenwein mit Entwicklungspotenzial."

James Suckling: A chewy and silky red at the same time, with dark berries, hazelnut and spice undertones that follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate, with fresh fruit and a fresh finish. A blend of 55% cabernet sauvignon, 34% merlot and 11% cabernet franc."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Côte de Baleau pops from the glass with energetic notes of raspberry preserves and red currant jelly, followed by hints of red roses, clove oil, and fallen leaves. The medium- to full-bodied palate has a very firm backbone of grainy tannins with a lively line cutting through the dense, muscular red preserves flavors, finishing long and perfumed."

Decanter: Well balanced wine. The flavours and aromas of plum and licorice are delivered in a palate of smooth tannin. For the price, what more do you want? The finish is marked by touches of spice from the oak aging at 30% new oak. A nice wine and not expensive!"

Jeb Dunnuck: Always a brilliant white from this estate, the 2025 Château Couhins Blanc comes from clay and limestone soils and is based on 96% Sauvignon Blanc and 4% Sauvignon Gris. More stone and white fruits as well as chalky minerality and mint define the bouquet, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, with a concentrated mouthfeel, bright, racy acidity, and a great finish. It shows the riper style of the year while bringing chiseled, racy acidity, and it will keep for 30 years or more."

Decanter: A most successful wine whose aromas evoke ripe black fruit with a touch of reduction. The palate constitutes an appealing combination of smoothness, ripeness, and freshness as drawn from a healthy yield of around 37 hl/ha. Notably juicier than many other Pessac-Léognan reds in its price range, the palate offers a supple, flowing texture shaped by gentle extraction with already well-integrated tannins. Despite its concentration, the wine retains characteristic 2025 vintage freshness: an excellent achievement in terms of generosity, linear focus and drinkability."

Jane Anson: Medium to full intensity plum colour, this is intense, powerful, cloves and black pepper, great quality, plenty of ageing potential and this is skilful winemaking. Jacques Lurton owner and winemaker along with niece Mathilde de Caix-Lurton. Harvest September 3 to 19. 39 hl/ha. 50% new oak."

Decanter: After tasting this barrel sample on three occasions, including with owner Jacques Lurton, I am convinced of the excellent quality from this 100% Sauvignon Blanc, as it evinces aromas and flavours of ripe pear, wet stone, chamomile, red apple, and lemon leading to a long finish. The wine shows impressive dry extract and depth, the 14% alcohol reflecting full ripeness. Although the harvest was entirely in August, it was not too early for fear of losing acidity, which resulting in some underripe or aggressive white wines in 2025, but not here. ageing includes 400-litre amphorae for added freshness, while lees stirring accentuates palate breadth. Healthy yields of 32 hl/ha."

Weinwisser: 97 % Sémillon, 2 % Sauvignon Blanc, 1 % Muscadelle. Betörendes, frisches Birnenparfüm, Marillenkonfitüre, Quittenbrot und Blütenhonig. Am öligen Gaumen mit ungeheurer Präzision und Feinheit ausgestattet, satter Körper. Im konzentrierten, aromatischen Finale ein exotischer Fruchtcocktail: Papaya, Mango und Maracuja; Tahiti-Vanille und wiederum ein voller Korb mit reifen Birnen. Ganz großes Barsac-Kino; teilt sich mit Suduiraut und Lafaurie-Peyraguey den 1. Platz in der Kategorie des besten Süßweins des Jahres."

Früher hieß dieses 19-Hektar-Weingut Château Mouton. Ja, Sie haben richtig gelesen, der Name stimmt. Das Gut hat allerdings nichts mit Mouton Rothschild zu tun. Nachdem 1997 Jean-Philippe Janouiex den Betrieb kaufte, musste er nach einem Rechtsstreit mit Mouton Rothschild den Namen ändern. Dabei geht die Geschichte des Guts bis ins 17. Jahrhundert zurück. Decanter: Yummy, cool acidity starts the expression with lovely soft, creamy, powdery tannins. I really like the cool Cabernet aspect here with soft dried herbs and crunchy, wet stone aspects. Controlled and refined, perhaps missing a touch more vibrancy and bright fruit, but this is true to Pauillac in a ‘cool’ vintage style. Chewy, grippy, still a little oak impacted on the finish but this will settle."

James Suckling: A well-balanced, round and flavorful blend of 62% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot and 3% cabernet franc. Medium-bodied with silky tannins and a velvety texture. Juicy fruits with a lift of spices. Persistent finish."
