James Suckling: A very structured red with a medium body, good depth of fruit and juicy tannins. Earth, spice and terra cotta undertones to the fruit. Muscular in many ways."

Decanter: A breath of fresh air, whether on its own merits or simply by contrast with two preceding, more unyielding Listracs: this shines brightly. The nose is attractively floral, with plum, blackberry, and cassis evoking ripeness and charm. The palate follows suit with smooth, polished tannins, though they do gather themselves into a slightly steely grip on the finish: not surprising in this vintage. Still, a notably strong showing and one of the most convincing recent performances from Château Chasse-Spleen. A a wine that reminds you why the estate can be so compelling."

Jeb Dunnuck: Checking in as a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc that will spend 16 months in 35% new oak, the 2025 Chasse-Spleen offers ripe black cherries, toasted nuts, spicy wood, and dried flowers on the nose. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with a nicely balanced, layered mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a good finish. It has tons of character, and my money is on this being outstanding once bottled. It checks in at 12.5% alcohol."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Chasse-Spleen leaps with vivacious notes of freshly crushed red currants and black raspberries, leading to suggestions of graphite, dried herbs, and mossy tree bark. The light- to medium-bodied palate is filled with bright red berries and herbal flavors with a light chewiness to the texture and a refreshing finish."
