erst vor kurzem brachte eine liebe Freundin eine Flasche 1989 Chateau d´Armailhac zum Abendessen mit, blind waren wir, ehrlich gesagt, sehr nahe an Mouton Rothschild, so genial trank sich dieser Wein aus dem Hause Rothschild. Und glauben Sie uns, für die Fehl-Einschätzung gab es keinerlei Grund zur Schande!
Mit 2022 CHATEAU D´ARMAILHAC hat die Familie ROTHSCHILD den besten Wein aus diesem Gut im Keller, der hier jemals produziert wurde, garantiert! Und das für lediglich 55,00 Euro! Wir verkosteten den Wein zwei Mal vor Ort, einmal gemeinsam mit PHILIPPE SEREYS DE ROTHSCHILD. Der technische Direktor und Head-Winemaker JEAN
EMANUELL DANJOY bestätigte uns sichtlich stolz, dass dies der seiner Meinung nach beste CHATEAU D´ARMAILHAC jemals ist. Nicht ohne Grund schreibt JAMES SUCKLING: „…This is like a baby Mouton…“. Und da die Abfüllanweisungen in 3 Wochen enden, wie wäre es mit ein paar Großflaschen 2022 CHATEAU D´ARMAILHAC.
Kurioserweise existiert dieser Wein am Markt nahezu nie in Großflaschen, 6 Magnumflaschen kosten Sie lediglich 675,60 Euro. Das Etikett, ein Abbild eines kleinen Bacchus aus dem 18. Jahrhundert mit einer Flasche Wein in der linken und Trauben in der rechten Hand, steht im traumhaften Museum von Mouton Rothschild, welches erst kürzlich neu eröffnet wurde und ein absoluter Muss-Besuch ist. UNGER WEINE war erst kürzlich vor Ort um die Original Gemälde sämtlicher Künstleretiketten von Mouton Rothschild seit 1945 zu besichtigen.
Nun aber zu 2022 CHATEAU D´ARMAILHAC, der im Jahrgang 2022 eine ungeheure Performance zeigt: „Ein enorm energiegeladener Wein mit Dichte, Fokus, einem irren Portfolio an schwarzen Beeren und einer Mineralik, die wir so in diesem Wein noch nie zuvor verkostet haben. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot reifen hier in 50% neuem Holz zu einem grandiosen D´ARMAILHAC mit beeindruckender Frische heran. Ein Wein der zudem sensationell altern kann, in der Großflasche noch viel besser...“

JAMES SUCKLING: "This is the most structured Mouton since the great 2016, with tannins that start slowly and then take off. It’s muscular and toned. It’s full-bodied but doesn’t come across too heavy. It builds up in intensity and goes on and on and on. It just keeps expanding. I took a double take here. 93% cabernet sauvignon and 7% merlot."

Juicy and plummy at the end. 12.9% alcohol. 3.75 pH. A blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon and 40% merlot."

JAMES SUCKLING: "A savory and juicy Carruades with softness and notes of ripe berry, cedar and dried tobacco. Like Lafite from the 1980s but more precise. Round and pretty. It really grows on the finish with such sweetness of fruit and length. Pointed, fine tannins at the end. Very long. A blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon and 40% merlot."

JAMES SUCKLING: "This is very structured with currant and chocolate character, medium body and an excellent center-palate of fruit and tannins. Juicy at the end."

JAMES SUCKLING: "There is a really pretty, powdery-tannin texture to this, with dark-berry and currant character. Some orange peel, too. It’s full and layered with a sense of precision and focus. Framed and open-grained in the texture. Velvety. Real Pauillac personality here. 70% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot and 10% cabernet franc. May be better than 2022."
