Nicolas Audebert, der uns als Freund und Businesspartner sehr am Herzen liegt, hat neben seinen überragenden Chateau Canon und Chateau Berliquet auch auf dieser Chanel Dependance wieder einmal ganze Arbeit geleistet. 29hl/ha ergaben die Erträge, die in einem Blend aus 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 1.5% Petit Verdot und 0.5% Cabernet Franc in 60% neuem Holz heranreifen. Wenn man Seide in Wein beschreiben kann, wir sprechen hier von Wildseide, die immer ein klein wenig natürlicher und unregelmäßiger, trotzdem aber fein ist, dann liegen wir hier nicht falsch. Süße Textur, Cassis, Brombeeren, Edelholz, dunkle Kirschen, der volle Fruchtkorb. All dies aber eingerahmt in einer seidigen Textur mit unglaublichem Schmelz, seidigen Tanninen, Mineralik und trotzdem enormem Druck. Ein top Margaux mit super Bewertungen bis hin zu 99 Punkten. Vinum: Der Wein zeichnet sich oft durch Lavendelblüten aus, in diesem Jahr markiert das Aroma besonders stark, kandierte Früchte, Mandarinen komplettieren den Duft; satter Gaumen, sehr opulent, viel Süsse, viel Druck, dennoch Frische; im Abgang von grosser Länge. In seinem Stil, von sehr hoher Komplexität."

Decanter: What I like about this wine is that it is not gooseberry varietal but rather exudes more complex aromatics such as lime blossom and yuzu. Aged in a mix of steel and oak vats, the fruit is clearly expressed and this is a frank success for the 2025 vintage. Light bodied and enjoyable, with some contoured character! Ideal for charcuterie or to get the party started."

Falstaff: Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Einladende Note von Gewürznelken, etwas Nougat, schwarze Kirschen, etwas Cassis, Lakritze, tabakiger Anklang. Saftig, elegant, straffe Tannine, schokoladig, etwas austrocknend im Abgang, braucht Zeit."

James Suckling: A salty and minerally red with blackberry, tar and walnut character. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. 78% merlot, with the rest cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot."

Decanter: Lovely aromatics, floral and open on the nose with ripe blackcurrant and plum fruit as well as a cedar and cinnamon edges. Juicy and upfront, this has such a bright opening with clarity to the bramble fruit and acidity that drives the wine forward. Perfumed and pure, very classy and drinkable. Lovely hands off approach."

James Suckling: Exuberant dark fruit. This is structured, with a touch of cedar and polished, fine-grained tannins that are so sophisticated and run the length of the wine. Classy. 78% cabernet sauvignon, 15% merlot, 4% cabernet franc and 3% petit verdot."

James Suckling: Full-bodied with plenty of flesh and dark fruit throughout. Very attractive richness, with fine-grained, polished tannins that persist through the finish. Solid and unique."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Licorice, smoke, espresso, flowers, chocolate, and black raspberries create the complex aromatics. The palate is full-bodied, rich, powerful, deep, and creamy There is lift to the wealth of fruit that coats mouth and palate, leaving you with waves of supple, ripe, and sweet berries, and pit fruits. Give it a few years in the bottle and this going to be simply fabulous. The wine blends 86% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. 13.5% ABV. Aging takes place in a combination of 50% new, French oak, 1 year old barrels, foudres and amphora. Harvesting took place September 15 - September 22. Drink from 2029-2055."

Decanter: Black fruit and fragranced notes on the nose. Smooth and supple, round and really excellently weighted, nothing out of place with plenty of minty cool freshness, licks of graphite, liquorice and wet stones with a softly chalky finish. Excellent bargain this year. Plenty to like, easy to drink with a really classic, approachable aspect. This stands out this year. 3.80pH. A yield of 30hl/ha. 5% Petit Verdot completes the blend."

Decanter: Gorgeous aromatics with a subtle iodine-inflected freshness set the tone. This Lalande-de-Pomerol shows refinement in its tannic extraction, carefully managed by Vincent Millet, also at the helm of Calon-Ségur. The élevage in 80% concrete preserves a clear sense of fruit. Notes of damson and forest strawberry are layered with a delicate hint of rose stem. The finish is long and composed-an understated success of the vintage. Tasted twice with similarly positive impressions."

Weinwisser: delikates frisches Williams-Birnenmark, fein herausgearbeitet, Safran, Lindenblütenhonig, Tahiti-Vanille und Karamell. Am öligen Gaumen mit ungeheurer Präzision, man spürt die perfekt reife Botrytis, feinpfeffriger Extrakt, Fülle, Saftigkeit und nicht enden wollendes Finale, ein Korb mit Birnen und Mandarinen. Ganz großes Sauternes- Kino und ein absoluter Must Buy dieses Jahr!"

99 PUNKTE für einen Referenz-Weißwein, das hätten wir DANIEL CATHIARD doch so sehr gewünscht, es zu erleben, es war ihm leider nicht mehr gegönnt. Der Wein und das Gut allerdings werden weiterleben und seinen Namen in die Welt der Weinfreaks tragen. Dieser 90% Sauvignon Blanc mit je 5% Semillon und Sauvignon Gris wurde zwar leider mit lediglich 18hl/ha gelesen. Der Wein aber war derart komplex, saftig, schmatzig, mit Säure und dieser sexy Smith-Barrique-Note, eingerahmt in einen Fruchtkorb und gewürzt mit Mineralik, wow, was für ein Weißwein. Well done Daniel!
