Am Sonntag, den 10.09.2023, ist Ihre letzte Chance, an individuell, ausschließlich für Sie persönlich, abgefüllte Sonderformate des herausragenden Bordeaux-Jahrganges 2022 zu gelangen. Die Chateaux machen bereits seit Wochen erheblich Druck, da die Beschaffung von Glas und Holz mit enormen Schwierigkeiten verbunden ist. Insofern wurde die Deadline mit dem Jahrgang 2022 deutlich früher gesetzt, zudem reduzierten viele Chateaux die Anzahl an möglichen Sonderformaten. Für uns bereits seit Jahren ein klarer Trend, deshalb lieber jetzt, wer weiß, was die Zukunft bringt!
Ein Chateau, dass Sie aus genau diesem Grund, aberenso aus vielerlei Gründen mehr, unbedingt auf dem Radar haben müssen, ist das Pomerol-Gut 2022 CHATEAU GUILLOT CLAUZEL. Der junge GUILLAUME THIENPONT,

CHATEAU GUILLOT CLAUZEL alljährlich, deshalb hiervon Magnumflaschen… kaum auszudenken 😉. Wir sind gut mit GUILLAUME befreundet, hatten erst unlängst gemeinsam einen alten Jahrgang Heitz Martha´s Vineyard, gegen den GUILLAUME einen mehr als adäquaten VCC anstellte, dabei riet er uns nochmals augenzwinkernd, uns auf
diesem Gut zu engagieren. Preislich ist 2022 CHATEAU GUILLOT CLAUZEL nämlich bei etwa einem Drittel von Vieux Chateau Certan, qualitativ aber schließt dieser Wein mehr und mehr auf. Kein Wunder, dass JEFF LEVE vom THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER mit -97 Punkten rangeht, der WEINWISSER mit 18,5 bewertet.
Lediglich 2,4 Hektar umfasst CHATEAU GUILLOT CLAUZEL, bestockt sind die Flächen mit
mehr als 70 Jahre alten Rebstöcken. Einer der vielen Prestige-Nachbarn ist übrigens Chateau Trotanoy. GUILLAUME erklärte uns: „…the soil of Guillot Clauzel is more like the gravely parts at Vieux Chateau Certan but with a fresh undersoil. Therefore we have perfect drainage on one side, but also good water capacity in the deeper soils on the other side, which was important in the vintage 2022, because it gives us great freshness. I can also see the positive change in the vinerard since I took over. Unfortunately the total production again was very small…”
Mit dem Jahrgang 2022 vinifizierte GUILLAUME eine Cuvee aus 83% Merlot und 17% Cabernet Franc, die er aktuell zu 30% in neuem Holz reift. Wir verkosteten den Wein zwei Mal gemeinsam mit ihm und notierten begeistert: „Beeindruckende Nase roter und dunkler Beeren, asiatische Gewürze, Palisanderholz. Am Gaumen wiederum sehr schwarzbeerig, mit Schokolade und Kakao. Dabei sehr straff und komplex konturiert, trotzdem enorm seidig und
geschliffen. Und dann diese irren Terroirnoten, die ungemein Rasse verleihen. Das ist ein perfekt vinifizierter Pomerol aus allerbestem Hause mit grandioser Zukunft!“

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "The 2023 Lafleur is one of a small number of contenders for the title of wine of the vintage, and it's one 2023 that appears to surpass its 2022 counterpart. Wafting from the glass with aromas of blackberries, cherries and plums mingled with hints of licorice, violets and mint, it's full-bodied, deep and layered, with a concentrated core of lively, succulent, pure fruit framed by beautifully refined tannins, concluding with a long, fragrant finish. Its exquisite structure, intensity without weight and ineffable harmony mark it out as a great Lafleur, and one that will be worth a special effort to seek out. It's a blend of 56% Cabernet Franc and 46% Merlot."

JAMES SUCKLING: "The texture to this is really something, with tannins that are silky and totally integrated. It remains so lifted and weightless, but then it runs long and tight. Very attractive citrus fruit and blueberries, as well as a touch of tile and ceramic. Caresses your palate. 70% merlot and 30% bouchet (cabernet franc)."

JAMES SUCKLING: "Impressive freshness and succulence to the fruit flavors. Chocolatey character is backed by smooth, well-integrated tannins. Medium to full body. Plenty of dark and blue fruit on the mid-palate, leading to a firm finish. Old vines worked well here. Very structured with solid tannins. 98% merlot and 2% cabernet franc. Better than 2022."

JAMES SUCKLING: "This is very tight, transparent and sleek. Medium body, very fine tannins and a racy, bright finish. The tannins are so refined and polished. 74% merlot, 20% cabernet franc and 6% cabernet sauvignon. From organically grown grapes."

Die Pomerol Dependance von Chateau Lafite Rothschild. Wir hatten den Wein zweimal zur Verkostung im Glas, einmal gemeinsam mit Saskia de Rothschild, die sichtlich stolz auf ihr Ergebnis war. Seit dem Jahrgang 2020 ist die junge Juliette Couderc hier als echnische Direktorin tätig und ihre Handschrift lässt den Wein deutlich präziser, feiner und eleganter erscheinen. 78% Merlot gelangten im Jahr 2023 in den Blend. Ein sehr dichter, dunkelbeeriger Evangile, der bereits bei der Verkostung zu umgehendem Genuß animierte. Ein wirklich toller Evangile!

JEB DUNNUCK: "All Merlot pulled from 8.5 hectares of vines on the eastern side of the appellation, the 2023 Château Lafleur-Gazin sports a deeper ruby/purple hue as well as rocking red and black fruits that give way to spicy oak, chocolate, and loamy earth-like nuances. This richly textured, medium to full-bodied Pomerol has a round, lush mouthfeel, terrific mid-palate depth, and outstanding length. Count me impressed. This is worth checking out."
