2022 CHATEAU LEOVILLE BARTON Subskription

Saint Julien
Jane Anson: Concentrated, a ton of sleek graphite, crayon, liqourice root, we are fully in the heart of Las Cases here, with its grip and slow climb through the palate, on the right side of austere, cocoa bean and cassis, a full mouth experience, push and pull, tension and grip. Jeb Dunnuck: The 2025 Château Langoa Barton is based on 45% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Cabernet Franc, checking in at 13.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.55. Darker currants, smoky tobacco, graphite, and tons of violet and floral nuances all shine on the nose, and it has remarkable purity, full-bodied richness, a broad, layered mouthfeel, and ripe, polished tannins on the palate. The finish is a blockbuster. It's probably the greatest Langoa ever."

Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou - La Croix de Beaucaillou 2025
Saint Julien
Jane Anson: The gourmet edge is evident from the first moments, keeping the signature of this wine, expertly done, cocoa bean, liquorice, glass-staining brightness, fresh acidities, takes a beat for the full La Croix signature to come in but it is luscious and juicy, and will reward five to seven years ageing. 3.67 pH. Harvest September 2 to 23, 60% new oak. Last year in the former cellar, with the new winery receiving fruit for the first time in 2026 vintage."

Chateau Gruaud Larose - Sarget de Gruaud 2025
Saint Julien
Decanter: Such fragrant and explosive aromatics, full of violets and freshly picked flowers with really ripe blackcurrants. Such a vibrant colour in the glass too - a bright pink colour, really vivid. Succulent and so juicy with a lovely zing of cranberry acidity but backed by a cool blueberry, almost creamy and chalky texture. Amazing energy to this, really fleshy and lifted but at the same time there’s plenty of fruit and power. 3.69pH. 2% Cabernet Franc completes the blend."

This beauty stopped me in my tracks with its sheer class and purity. Full-bodied on the palate, it has a layered, graceful mouthfeel, gorgeous tannins, and a great finish, all grounded by a remarkable sense of balance and elegance. It checks in at 13.47% alcohol with a pH of 3.71. This is a heavenly Saint-Julien that brings the richness of the vintage alongside an unmistakable sense of class. Bravo!"

Chateau Lagrange 2025
Saint Julien
Jeb Dunnuck: Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Château Lagrange offers up ripe blue and black fruits, spicy wood, smoky tobacco, violets, and graphite on the nose. Based on 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot that will spend 21 months in 50% new French oak, it checks in at 13.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.5. On the palate, it's rich and medium to full-bodied, with a pure, layered, graceful mouthfeel, velvety and integrated tannins, ample mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It's another brilliant wine from this château, which has been making absolutely world-class wines for some time now without the recognition they deserve."

Chateau Leoville Barton 2025
Saint Julien
