Wie bitte? Ja, 27,50 Euro für einen Wein, den Dr. William Kelley von Parkers Wine Advocate mit 94-96 Punkten bewertet. Korrekt, und wir können dem nur zustimmen, denn was Stephen Carrier in diesem Jahr vinifiziert hat, ist grandios! Ebenso der Weinwisser geht auf 18,5 Punkte. Derart fein und komplex gewoben, mit so unglaublich feinen Tanninen, perfekter Frucht, beeindruckender Mineralik und einem never ending Abgang, wow! 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot.

WEINWISSER: "60 % Sauvignon Blanc, 40 % Sémillon, 12.5 Vol.-%. Komplexes Bouquet, Weingartenpfirsich, weiße Blüten und edler Kreideton. Im zweiten Ansatz erkalteter Grüntee, Anis und Mandarinenzeste. Am stahligen Gaumen mit präziser Ausrichtung, delikater Textur, balancierter Rasse. Im gebündelten feinaromatischen, anregenden Finale mit Agrumen, stützender Mineralik und feinpfeffrigem reifem Extrakt gepaart mit zarter Salznote."

DECANTER: "With appealing floral and red fruit aspects, a bright nose, the wine has a high-toned palate with just 'ripe enough' fruit. One misses the plumper plum of a veritable grand millésime, but 16 months ageing in 40% new oak will broaden the palate. Picked between 13 September and 4 October, this Merlot-dominated blend has 14% alcohol. Tasted twice with similar results."

DECANTER: "Lovely fragrance of floral and dark bramble fruit on the nose. Smooth and supple, succulent and mouthwatering. Really lovely, juicy and bright, light and lean, but there’s texture too, softly grippy tannins that give the St-Estèphe minerality. Cool, crisp, lifted, lovely freshness with blue fruit and lots of pencil led and mint. Balanced, easy, not too sharp not too edgy or hard. I like this a lot, chewy cherry and lean strawberry and crisp cranberry. Great balance, ends a little lean but it’s the minerality that captures and I love it."

Red and black fruits, spring flowers, smoky oak, and a hint of lead pencil all define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with a balanced, elegant mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and outstanding length. It shows how well this appellation did in the vintage and is well worth seeking out."

DECANTER: "With a potential for a higher score, as it is that good, this 100% Sauvignon Barsac displays vivid pink grapefruit, orchard peach and tangerine with focused botrytis derived spices of nutmeg, saffron and green peppercorn, with amazing energy (5.4 grams of acidity per litre) leading to a long, echoing finish with gorgeous lift. Crafted from grapes picked with the most highly developed 'noble rot', but reflecting the cooler side of the 2023 vintage, the result is excellent balance, reflecting the exceptional finesse of the porous limestone subsoils of Barsac. Fermentation in 100% new oak barrels. 195g of residual sugar per litre."

Medium-bodied with a solid core of fruit and tannins and a creamy, refined texture that turns to a medium finish. 70% cabernet sauvignon, 15% merlot, 11% cabernet franc and 4% petit verdot."

LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: "The 2023 du Tertre Blanc sashays out with showy notes of honey-drizzled peaches and juicy pears plus hints of lemongrass and orange blossom. The medium-bodied palate is lively and refreshing, with loads of spicy accents and good length. The blend is 32% Sauvignon Blanc, 23% Chardonnay, 23% Gros Manseng, and 22% Viognier."

Der charismatische Bruno Borie, niemals bescheiden, Gutes über seine Weine zu erzählen, hat mit dem 2023er einen wahrhaft grandiosen Ducru im Keller. Unzählige 97 und 98 Punkte Bewertungen geben ihm mehr als Recht. Deshalb dürfte ihm die Entscheidung den 2023er mit 35% Rabatt auf den Vorgängerjahrgang anzubieten, auch nicht ganz einfach gefallen sein. 85% Cabernet formen einen ungemein dichten, nahezu Pauillac-style, St. Julien, der sich sehr muskulös und durchtrainiert zeigte. Ein super 2023er der bereits bei der Verkostung immens Spaß bereitete.

JAMES SUCKLING: "The purity of fruit is so beautiful here with blackcurrants and violets, as well as freshly shaved lead pencil. It’s medium-bodied with refined tannins that are wonderfully polished and give plenty of texture. Goes on for minutes. Second wine of Ducru. 58% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon and 2% petit verdot."

Der Ableger aus dem Hause Lafite Rothschild. Seitdem hier im Jahr 2020 die neuen Keller in Betrieb genommen wurden, zeigen die Weine deutlich mehr Präzision, Finesse und Tiefe. Mit 80% Cabernet Sauvignon im Blend, der höchste Anteil jemals, zeigte der Wein, wie perfekt Cabernet in diesem Jahr ausreifen konnte, wenn man über den Regen hinweg wartete, zudem über großes Terroir verfügt. Ein absolut nobler und toller Duhart Milon.

JAMES SUCKLING: "Plenty of blackcurrant, dark-chocolate and cedar character with medium to full body, creamy tannins and a juicy finish. Round and delicious. A blend of 55% merlot and 45% cabernet sauvignon."

Dieser biodynamisch bewirtschaftete Margaux ist noch viel zu wenig auf dem Radar der Konsumenten. Und dass obwohl hier derart grandiose Weine entstehen. Haben Sie sich einmal die Bewertungen angesehen? Drei Bewertungen bis 96 Punkte und drei Bewertungen bis 95 Punkte. Das ist ein mega Erfolg! Und genauso schmeckte auch der Wein. Sage und schreibe 92% Cabernet Sauvignon. Was die mit einem Ertrag von 35hl/ha an Konzentration, Dichte, Cremigkeit und Komplexität bringen, ist absolut beeindruckend. Das ist ein super Margaux!

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "The 2023 D'Agassac shows a fresh, fruity bouquet of dark wild berries, mulberries and flowers, followed by a medium-bodied, gourmand and supple palate with a long, fresh and ethereal finish. A lighter touch in the winery is delivering wines of greater charm and immediacy at this Haut-Médoc address. This is a blend of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 51% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc, matured for 50% in new oak barrels, 40% in tanks and 10% in amphorae."

Auf deutschen Landkarten wäre Chateau d´Aiguilhe mit einem Stern als besondere Sehenswürdigkeit gekennzeichnet. Selten zuvor habe ich so beeindruckende Decken- und Balkenkonstruktionen wie in dem Barriquekeller von Chateau Aiguilhe gesehen, selten zuvor eine derartige Ruhe vermittelnde, architektonische Ausstrahlung erlebt. DECANTER: "Generous and weighty, lovely density and honey aspects. Chalky tannins, a bit of peach flesh, some orange, some green apple but this is calm and so relaxed. Really approachable with such a generous but charming weight and tone of flavour. Mouthwatering, bright and clean. Really incredibly drinkable. Chalky on the finish with a slight hint of orange and grapefruit bitterness. Fat comes from the concentration - great balance of sapidity, acidity and fruit. 3.1pH. Yield of 28hl/ha."

Mit 17,80 Euro ist Chateau d´Aiguilhe ein mega Deal! 90% Merlot auf Kalk-Sandstein gewachsen formen einen Wein mit toller Rasse und Klasse. Und es wäre kein echter Neipperg, wäre da nicht dieses verführerische Bouquet von Blaubeeren, Veilchen und Kräutern. Lediglich 20% neues Holz verwenden die Neippergs mittlerweile, was dem Wein diese tolle Frucht bewahrt. Diesen Aiguilhe sollten Sie unbedingt in Großflaschen abfüllen, das wird einmal ein richtiger Spaßmacher, vin de plaisir würden unsere Nachbarn sagen.

DECANTER: "Another excellent Sauternes that would fall into the freshness category, which works better for most people these days, along with botrytis derived black tea and ginger spice. I love the freshness and poise and accompanied by bright orange and touches of white stone fruit on the palate, albeit not as suave as the white apricot expressed in some of the more successful Sauternes tasted. For the price, however, you cannot go wrong! With 148 grams of residual sugar, 4.9 grams per litre of total acidity and 3.85 pH."

FALSTAFF: "Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zart nach Brombeeren, schwarze Kirschen, feine Kräuterwürze, etwas zurückhaltendes Bukett. Mittlerer Körper, straff und komplex, feine Tannine, mineralisch und gut anhaftend, zeigt Reifepotenzial."

Chateau d´Aurilhac ist einer der Preis-Leistungs-Hits aus dem Medoc. Obwohl die Weine seit einigen Jahrgängen von den internationalen Degustatoren regelmäßig hoch eingeschätzt werden, ist das Weingut hierzulande immer noch ein Geheimtipp. Sehr erfolgreich ist das Chateau in den Benelux Ländern. Die neuere Geschichte von Château d’Escurac beginnt mit dem Großvater des heutigen Besitzers, mit Jean Landureau. Er kaufte das Gut, um seiner Leidenschaft nachgehen zu können: Pferdezucht – nicht Weinbau. Das ist neben Chateau Petrus der Name in ganz Bordeaux. Chateau d´Yquem produziert die teuersten, lagerungsfähigsten und exclusivsten Süßweine des Bordelais. 80% Semillon und 20% Sauvignon werden hier angepflanzt, immerhin 8000 Kisten werden produziert.

JAMES SUCKLING: "This is very long and tight with wonderful al-dente fruit, such as blackberry and orange peel. Fine tannins run the length of the wine, keeping it fresh and vivid at the end. 97% merlot and 3% cabernet franc."

JAMES SUCKLING: "Pretty core of blackberries, blueberries, walnuts and hazelnuts. Medium to full body and velvety tannins. A blend of 70% merlot, 25% cabernet franc and 5% cabernet sauvignon."

Seit Jahren einer unserer Lieblings-Margaux in diesem Preis-Segment. 68% Cabernet Sauvignon aus biodynamischen Weinbau formen einen cremigen Wein mit Cassis, schwarzen Beeren, dunklen Kirschen und tiefem Grafit. Dabei sind die Tannine derart fein gewoben und proportioniert, dass man nur staunen kann. Das ist Perfektion in der Vinifikation. Ein absolut toller Ferriere mit super Bewertungen.

JEB DUNNUCK: "Rocking levels of cassis and darker berry fruits, spicy wood, graphite, spring flowers, and chocolate emerge from the 2023 Château Feytit-Clinet, a plump, full-bodied, broad, incredibly sexy 2023 that has sweet tannins and a great finish. It plays in the more ethereal, supple, juicy style of the vintage while still bringing plenty of depth, richness, and length. This tiny château, which is run by Jeremy Chasseuil, continues to fashion brilliant wines that represent incredible values, and it deserves more attention in the market today."

Chateau Figeac ist seit bereits mehr als 120 Jahren im Besitz der Familie Manoncourt. Figeac zählt seit vielen Jahrzehnten zu den prestigeträchtigsten Gütern in Bordeaux, was vor allem am außergewöhnlichen Terroir liegt. Die 40 Hektar Weinberge von Chateau Figeac verteilen sich auf drei steinige und kiesbasierte Erhebungen, der Rebsortenspiegel besteht zu 35% aus Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Cabernet F

Seitdem der neue Keller auf Figeac in Betrieb ging, eilt dieses Chateau unter der Leitung von Frederic Faye von Erfolg zu Erfolg. Unter der Mithilfe von Thomas Duclos entstehen hier Weine, die wir gerne einmal in 40 oder 50 Jahren trinken möchten, so wie all die alten genialen Jahrgänge dieses Chateau. Schön, dass dieser Erfolg im Jahrgang 2023 mit dem 130. Jahrgang der Familie Manoncourt einhergeht. Da gibt es guten Grund, zu feiern. 41% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon werden auf Figeac klassisch gemeinsam ausgebaut. Und das da in den Barriques heranreift kann man nur als brillant bezeichnen. Dieser Wein hat einfach alles. Beeren, Cassis, Tabak, Kräuter, Gewürze, Veilchen. All dies in einer Konzentration und einer Aromatik, die ihresgleichen sucht. Einer der Jahrgangsweine!

Das Chateau Filhot, welches in der Gemeinde Sauternes liegt, wurde im Jahre 1709 von Romain de Filhot gegründet und ist bis heute im Besitz der Familie. Aus Erzählungen weiß man dass der Weinbau schon früher betrieben wurde. Großteils wird Semillon, ein kleiner Teil Sauvignon Blanc und Muscadelle angebaut. Die Reben weisen ein durchschnittliches Alter von 35 Jahren auf.
