JEB DUNNUCK: "Red and black fruits, graphite, leafy tobacco, and violet notes all emerge from the 2024 Château Fontenil, a medium-bodied Fronsac that has a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, silky tannins, and an undeniable sense of minerality on the finish. It's another beautifully made, seamless wine from this estate."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Chocolate, licorice, and black cherries with hints of flowers are found in the nose. The palate is vibrant, fresh, and fruity, with loads of salt-edged black cherries, black raspberries, and soft, supple textures. This is quite a success for the vintage. The wine is produced from 100% Merlot. Drink from 2027-2038."

LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: "Deep garnet-purple in color. Waltzes out with showy notes of baked plums and black cherry preserves, followed by hints of tilled soil, bay leaves, and fallen leaves. The light to medium-bodied palate is soft and refreshing with savory flavors and a peppery finish."
