JAMES SUCKLING: "Fine tannins with cherries, currants, flowers and citrus. Medium body with integrated tannins that are fine and lively. Bright and crunchy."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Silky, fresh, refined, soft and polished, there is an elegance to the layers of sweet, plums, followed by truffle, coffee bean and dark chocolate with a touch of flowers, mint and spice on the backend. The wine is fresh, long and complex. The wine blends 60% Merlot with 40% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2024-2040."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "A blend of 35% Cabernet Franc and 65% Merlot, Peter Sisseck's superb 2021 Rocheyron offers up aromas of wild berries and plums mingled with notions of vine smoke, exotic spices and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, it's a tensile, vibrant wine of elegance and character, and I suspect that it will surpass several recent banner vintages in quality despite the less propitious growing season. This eight-hectare estate in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes is characterized by high altitude and shallow clay soils over limestone, naturally delivering wines of energy and precision."

JEB DUNNUCK: "The 2021 Château Rocheyron comes from a tiny parcel in the Laroque vineyard and is a 60/40 split of Merlot and Cabernet Franc that's resting in just 34% new French oak. This vineyard has been owned by Silvio Denz since 2010 and Peter Sisseck of Pingus also consults on the winemaking. Deep purple-hued, with an impressive array of juicy berry fruits, flowers, and chalky, herbal nuances, the wine is medium-bodied, has ripe tannins, and brings solid richness with no sensation of weight or heaviness. This is a selection of 65% of the total production, harvested from the 2nd to the 13th of October, hitting 13% alcohol."
