WEINWISSER: "64 % Merlot, 36 % Cabernet Franc, 13.31 Vol.-%, pH 3.53. Verspieltes Bouquet, reife Waldhimbeere, rote Johannisbeer-drops, Kakaopulver und betörende Veilchen. Am kompakten Gaumen mit fein spröder Textur, straff geschnitten, tiefschürfende Terroirwürze. Im konzentrierten Finale schwarzbeerige Konturen, dann verschlankt sich der Pomerol immer mehr und endet mit fein mürber Adstringenz, Potentialwertung."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "I was immensely impressed by the quality of the 2021 Nenin, a wine that's the fruit of an immensely strict selection—and several consecutive nights of frost protection. Offering up aromas of sweet plums, wild berries, raw cocoa, black truffles and nicely integrated new oak, it's a medium to full-bodied, supple and velvety wine with lively acids, melting tannins and a layered, concentrated profile with a long, penetrating finish. Tasted twice."

JAMES SUCKLING: "Very fine tannins with a medium body and a fresh center-palate. Hints of spices and dried lemon peel. Bright and focused. Pretty fruit. Refined."

DECANTER: "Pot pourri aromas, perfumed and floral, with strawberry and cherry chocolate. Crunchy and lively on the palate with an initial mouthwatering sensation that comes from all corners of the mouth. It's a touch soft on the Mid-palate, losing a little of the glamorous and plush fruit forwardness, leaving some liquorice spice, iodine and clove in the middle. It’s just so fruity and lively at the beginning - the bitter grapefruit, blood orange, sour cherry and raspberry - then stops just a little short, suddenly becoming quite shy with the terroir effects of graphite and wet stone and the Cabernet Franc spice and focus coming in and taking over. It has a gently caressing feel however, classic and straight with a seamless tannic structure. Good precision on show and will benefit from ageing."

JEB DUNNUCK: "The flagship 2021 Château Nenin is terrific, coming from more classic Pomerol clay soils and based on 64% Merlot and 36% Cabernet Franc, resting in 35% new French oak. It's worth pointing out that this estate lies next to Trotanoy and Le Pin, so this is a fabulous terroir. A beautiful ripe, sexy Pomerol with lots of darker, almost blue fruits as well as notes of chocolate and damp earth, it's medium to full-bodied, has a round, voluptuous mouthfeel, and a great finish. This hit 13.3% alcohol with an IPT of 65."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Cherries, flowers, chocolate, and a baby hint of pineapple create the nose. On the palate, the wine is classic in nature with a firm accent to the sweet, crisp, ripe red and black plums. The wine blends 64% Merlot and 36% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2025-2042."
