WEINWISSER: "90 % Merlot, 10 % Cabernet Franc, 14 Vol.-%.

JAMES SUCKLING: "A dark-fruited Pomerol with pretty notes of cloves, sandalwood, dried lavender and tar. Medium-to full-bodied with ripe, powdery tannins. Coffee notes at the end. Excellent intensity and structure for the vintage. 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc."

JEB DUNNUCK: "The 2021 La Petite L'Eglise Clinet comes from designated parcels that never seemed to blend well with the rest of the parcels, as well as some of the younger vine Merlot. It's 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, brought up in 60% new French oak. A beautiful wine in its own right, it has plenty of plum and cassis fruits, notes of violets, earth, and graphite, medium-bodied richness, silky tannins, and just a forward, charming, delicious profile."

DECANTER: "A dark, serious and brooding nose full of black fruits, truffle, rose, violet and dark chocolate. The palate is different, however, giving succulent and lively red fruits - sweet/sour strawberries and red cherries, so fresh and sincere, so perfectly presented with the bitter touches balanced against sweetness, racy acidity and fine tannins. An easy-to-like wine, with personality and style, and just a feeling of pure joy about it. Not rich, heavy or opulent, but taking the most joyous elements from the vintage and putting them in the glass, still with structure and depth. Ageing in 70% new oak. 7,000 bottle production."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Dark chocolate-coated black cherries and plums with a savory edge on the nose and palate. There is lift and freshness to the red fruits, along with accents of wet earth, plums and truffle. Enjoy this while waiting for the Grand Vin to develop. The wine blends 90% Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc. 14% ABV. Drink from 2023-2038."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2021 La Petite Eglise opens in the glass with aromas of dark berries, licorice, loamy soil and black truffle. It's medium to full-bodied, concentrated and tensile, with terrific depth at the core and a long, saline finish,"
