Falstaff: Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Feiner Lakritzetouch, dunkle Waldbeeren, schwarze Herzkirschen, zarte florale Aspekte, dezente Edelholzwürze, sehr vielschichtiges Bukett. Saftig, hochelegant, schwarze Kirschen, zarte Extraktsüße, feine, integrierte Tannine, mineralisch und balanciert, bleibt gut haften, hat viel Charme, bereits gut antrinkbar, gutes Reifepotenzial."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Dark garnet in color, the wine shows off its display of red pit fruits, smoke, flowers, forest leaves, spice, and roasted cherries with pride. Rich, powerful, deep, and long, the wine is packed with dark chocolate, black cherries, plums, espresso, licorice, and herbs. There is a vibrancy paired with elegance, concentration, and purity that stand out. There is length, depth, intensity, and complexity that is showcased on the seamless finish. As a matter of style, this reminds of 1998 in its youth. The wine will require some aging before it begins to truly reveal its full potential. The wine is produced from 99.5% Merlot, with .05 Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2032-2065."

James Suckling: Blueberry, raspberry, blood orange and lavender aromas follow through to a medium body with an intense and energized center palate that gives superb definition and vivid, tight fruit and tannins at the end. 96% merlot and 4% cabernet franc."

Jeb Dunnuck: A brilliant, concentrated wine, the 2025 Château Trotanoy is one of my favorite wines in the appellation and comes from 7.2 hectares of vines on gravel and clay soils sitting atop an iron and clay hardpan. Its deep purple hue is followed by tons of ripe black fruits, crushed stone, graphite, and dark chocolate on the nose. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with a great mid-palate, the building structure that's common with this terroir, and a great finish. It's a brilliant Pomerol that will play with the top wines in the appellation."

Jane Anson: Signature Trotanoy concentration, muscular and intense, it will run and run. Shows a brooding quality that this wine can specialise in during its early years, and we are truly and fully in the slow and steady 50 year category of Trotanoy. Espresso, pumice stone, sage, roasted coffee beans, olive pit, cassis. 19hl/h, Harvest September 1 to 19. 50% new oak."

Decanter: Clean and fresh aromatics - perfumed black fruit. Chewy and ripe, broad and filling but juicy and charming at the same time. It’s quite pent up, definitely coiled and knitted down but there’s such an appealing softness to this expression - definitely not overextacted but harnessing the ripeness of the fruit and delivering an intense, concentrated wine without the density or plushness of a hot vintage. Plums, blackcurrants and cherries, wet stones, oyster shell and a salty liquorice finish. Yum. Captivating."

Wine Advocate: The most powerful wine in the Mouiex cellars this year is the 2025 Trotanoy. Offering up aromas of ripe black fruits, fruitcake and spices, framed by a deft touch of new oak, it's full-bodied, layered and muscular, with plenty of ripe tannin and sweet fruit but good underlying energy, too. This will require some patience."
