Jane Anson: Just love this wine, always happy to rediscover it in a new vintage. Here you get the juicy fresh character of the cooler terroir of Francs, packed with flavourful cool blue fruits, saffron, crayon and elderflower blossom. What a consistent wine this is. 3.4 pH. Harvest September 4 to 23. 20% new oak. Nicolas and Cyrille Thienpont, Derenoncourt Consulting. New label this year also (in fact a return to the old one last used around 20 years ago)."

Decanter: Crystalline purity of blackcurrants and red cherries on the nose - smells inviting. There’s a beautiful pristine aspect to the fruit - a combination of strawberries and cherries - with a soft, wet stone grip. This can often have bracing acidity but here it is much softer making this more friendly earlier. Easy to like this. Gentle, charming and approachable with a really cool, fresh blue fruit and salty liquorice finish. 3.4pH. Ageing 16-18 months, 20% new oak, 30% two years, 20% concrete vats."

James Suckling: The palate is tense, with chalky, fine-grained tannins that take on a saline edge toward the finish. Finely delineated fruit brings balance. A blend of 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Flowers, mint, licorice, and cherries create the perfume. The medium-bodied palate is soft, round, fruity, open, and delivers its plummy charms their dollop of chocolate with ease. This is already easy to taste, so you can expect to enjoy this on release with pleasure. The wine blends 80% Merlot, with 20% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2028-2040."

Jeb Dunnuck: A juicy, pleasure-bent Francs-Côtes de Bordeaux, the 2025 Château Puygueraud is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc from yields of 32 hectoliters per hectare, raised in 30% new barrels with a small portion in foudre. Its deep purple hue is followed by an attractive bouquet of red and blue fruits, liquid violets, and peppery herbs. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, structured, and tannic, yet it still manages to stay nicely textured and balanced. This hit 14.3% alcohol and has a pH of 3.38."
