James Suckling: Lots of purity, with freshness and a linear, evenly distributed dark fruit profile. There is elegance and a chewy texture that’s precise and focused, with good definition."

Decanter: Dark aromas on the nose, fragrant purple flowers, tobacco, cedar, liquorice and black cherries - smells quite medicinal. Round and so well textured - smooth and friendly, this has such a gorgeous dollop of red fruit on the mid palate, a tiny bit chalky which is so enjoyable with such fine, delicate tannins but it’s the energy that I really like too. So well constructed and balanced. Less ‘strong’ than in some years, this is friendly and compelling. A fabulous wine. Concentration at the end, with the liquorice, tobacco and wet stones. Really quite impressive. 1% Petit Verdot completes the blend. 3.68pH. 65 IPT. Ageing 50% new oak. Harvest 8-20 September."

Jeb Dunnuck: Cassis, assorted blue fruits, sappy flowers, and violets all emerge from the 2025 Château Pédesclaux, with some graphite and classic Pauillac nuances rounding out the bouquet as it sits in the glass. Based on 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot that's being raised 18 months in 50% new French oak with the balance in once-used barrels, it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a pure, balanced, layered mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. It's one of the finest I've tasted from this château."

Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.

The Wine Cellar Insider: Blackberries, flowers, cherries, tobacco, cedar and spice, along with a shot create the nose. The vibrant, round, juicy, lifted palate displays its sweet, fresh currants along with spices, sweet blackberries, and touches of sea-salt, which is perfect for the wine's creamy-tannins, and polished fruits. Give it a few years in the cellar, and enjoy it over the following 2 or more decades. The wine is blended using 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. 13% ABV. Drink from 2030-2060."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Pedesclaux delivers notes of fresh black currants and ripe raspberries, giving way to nuances of cedar, wet slate, and damp soil with a waft of dried herbs. The medium-bodied palate has firm, grainy tannins and a refreshing line framing the taut, muscular black fruit, finishing minerally. The blend is 21% Merlot, 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Petit Verdot, and 9% Cabernet Franc. The alcohol is 13%."
