Decanter: Lovely cool and crisp aromas with charcoal, cola, blueberries and a hint of iris. Softly chewy but really juicy with a strawberry fruit core and chalky tannins that spread out across the mouth. A little short perhaps in terms of fruit intensity, a bit firm and serious still, but this should round out nicely with such piercing acidity and purity of fruit. Really very easy to approach. Nothing out of balance. A great-value pick that really delivers a classic Bordeaux aspect. A yield of 34hl/ha."

Jeb Dunnuck: Cassis and ripe cherry fruits define the 2025 Château Mauvesin Barton, a beautiful Moulis that picks up more spicy wood, graphite, and chocolate nuances with time in the glass. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannins, nicely integrated acidity, and beautiful overall balance. The tannin quality is also superb. Checking in as a blend of 48% Merlot, 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Cabernet Franc, this hit 12.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.5."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Mauvesin Barton slips easily out of the glass with eager-to-please notes of fresh red currants and blackberries, giving way to hints of red roses, wet slate, and bay leaves. Light-bodied, the palate is light on its feet with a crisp line creating compelling tension and bright red and black fruit, finishing minerally. The blend is 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Franc. The alcohol is 12.5%."
