Decanter: Heady scents on the nose, perfumed blackcurrants. Grippy tannins but with such a soft and bouncy frame and lively and cool blue fruit. Playful and charming, nothing too much here, with an easy-drinking quality. I really like this, it has plenty of flavour with some creamy strawberry, chalky cranberry and perfumed blackcurrants alongside a wet stone grip. Something quite hands off about it. Yet still with power and push."

James Suckling: Flavorful, well-composed and balanced. This blend of 95% merlot and 5% cabernet franc has notes of red cherries and baking spices. Medium-bodied with creamy tannins. Refined structure here with a delicious, juicy core of bright red fruit. Crunchy finish."

Jeb Dunnuck: Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Château Lucia offers up blue fruits, crushed stone, graphite, and liquid violets on the nose. Based on 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc aged in 30% new barrels with the balance in once-used oak, it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with nicely integrated oak and a focused, structured profile that still delivers solid depth and density. It checks in at 14% alcohol, and I think it should easily be outstanding."

Jane Anson: Powerful, deep inky plum colour, this very much has appellation and vintage signature, intense, liquorice and slate, sandalwood and incense, plenty of grip and lift. 3.6 pH. Harvest September 9 to 11. 25% new oak."
