Decanter: This wine evinces pleasing refinement, with clean fruit and a composed feel on the palate. Aromas of ripe cherry and blackberry come through clearly, complemented by subtle floral hints of violet, along with touches of vanilla and a faint note of eucalyptus leaf. The attack is supple and well-defined, with a slightly austere edge at this stage that should integrate further with barrel ageing (16 months, 35% new oak). There’s an appealing interplay of red and black fruit, giving the mid-palate a vibrant, lifted character, supported by fine, velvety tannins that lend structure without heaviness. Despite the warmth of the vintage, the wine retains a welcome freshness, bringing tension and precision. The finish is harmonious and clean, if not especially long, but it remains elegant and well-balanced overall."

James Suckling: Focused and juicy, with a medium body and fine, ripe tannins. Generously fruited, with a dense center palate and a chocolaty finish."

Jane Anson: Lovely dark plum, coffee bean spice, this is a hugely consistent château, fully knitted down tannic structure, but dark cassis and bilberry fruit underneath, and track record suggests that all of these elements will happily co-exist after ageing. 32 hl/ha. 35 % new oak. Harvest September 4 to 20. 3.64 pH."

Jeb Dunnuck: A charming, elegant wine, the 2025 Château Latour-Martillac reveals red, blue, and black fruits intermixed with leafy herbs, tobacco, and spicy wood. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has good purity and a balanced, already complex profile. It's not the most concentrated wine in the vintage, yet it's graceful and hard to resist."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Deeply colored, with smoke, tobacco leaves, herbs, and cigar wrappers. The medium-bodied palate is soft, round, lifted, and elegant. The fruits deliver freshness and refinement, with marine influences, and a hint of espresso on the backend of the finish. If you can wait a few years, it will be even better. The wine blends 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot. 13.5% ABV. Drink from 2028-2047."

Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zarter Nougat, schwarze Waldbeeren, kandierte Orangenzesten, attraktives Bukett. Kräftig, schokoladige Textur, Brombeerkonfit und reife Zwetschken unterlegt, etwas old fashioned, mineralischer Nachhall, gutes Reifepotenzial."

Wine Advocate: Elegant and harmonious, the 2025 Latour Martillac wafts from the glass with aromas of cassis, mulberries, lead pencil and spice. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and concentrated, it’s built around a fleshy core of fruit and framed by an assertive tannic structure, concluding with a long, spicy finish. More reserved on the palate than the nose suggests, it should gain in depth and balance with élevage."
