Decanter: Another excellent vintage from this trusty estate. A cool crystalline nose, cola, liquorice, tar and blueberries. So clean and pure. Crisp and focused from the off, a cooling menthol and blackcurrant element, soft grippy tannins and the most beautiful juicy mid palate that just makes you smile. A happy wine. It’s powerful no doubt but in a restrained way without any heaviness. Vibrant and energetic. I love the focus, the freshness and relatively delicacy. Filing in the month but this is exceptional in terms of fruit purity. Very drinkable. A yield of 30hl/ha. 3.68pH."

Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.

The Wine Cellar Insider: Silky, elegant, and refined, the wine is medium-bodied, soft, and almost delicate in its delivery. The vibrant red fruits express a gorgeous purity, softness, and refinement, leaving you with fresh, energetic waves of red berries, spice, and a refreshing hint of mint. While you will be able to enjoy this young, it has the potential to age and evolve for at least 2 decades or more. The wine is aged in 50% new, French oak, and 10% amphora. Drink from 2029-2052."

James Suckling: Focused and curated, with very long, fine tannins that take the wine on a journey. Nicely ripe fruit with berry and light hazelnut undertones. This is going to an excellent wine in the bottle."

Vinum: Offene Nase, Veilchenblüten, Schwarzkirschen, kühler Kamin; am Gaumen fruchtig, leicht cremig, zeigt dann zupackendes Tannin, die Frucht ist knackig; im Abgang ausbalanciert; vom Terroir geprägt, salzig, frisch."

Jeb Dunnuck: Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Château La Dominique is a reserved yet clearly promising Saint-Emilion based on 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, raised in 50% new barrels, 35% once-used barrels, and 15% amphora. Ripe black fruits, smoky tobacco, gravelly earth, and graphite all define the nose, and on the palate, it's rich and medium to full-bodied, with ample mid-palate volume, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It checks in at 13.6% alcohol with a pH of 3.68 and is very much on the focused, dense, concentrated side of the vintage."

Jane Anson: Delicious slate character, enjoyable pumice stone, depth and nuance here, great lift and floral character - rose buds and peony, cranberry and pomegranate, touch of blood orange, this has texture and interest and is measured. Definitely one to watch over ageing. Harvest September 8 to 20. 50% new oak, 15% in amphora. Gwendeline Lucas director."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 La Dominique waltzes out with gregarious notes of plum preserves and kirsch, plus suggestions of lilacs, licorice, and mossy tree bark. The medium-bodied palate is elegant and refreshing with lightly chewy tannins and a perfumed finish."
