James Suckling: A vivid red, succulent and well composed. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins. A blend of 70% merlot, 20% cabernet franc and 10% cabernet sauvignon. Crunchy, with purity of fruit. No oak at this stage; it will be added at a later stage."

Wine Advocate: The inaugural vintage under the new ownership of Véronique and Pierre-Henri Flurin, the 2025 La Couspaude wafts from the glass with aromas of spice, lead pencil, mulberries and dark wild berries. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and concentrated, it’s built around a fleshy core of fruit with an enveloping mid-palate framed by fine, velvety tannins, concluding with a long, spicy and gently ethereal finish. A blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, it will be matured without new oak, in a combination of large-format vessels, barrels and tanks."

Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Feine Gewürznote, reife Kirschenfrucht, Brombeeren, kandierte Veilchen, einladendes Bukett. Saftig, elegant, süße Zwetschkenfrucht, integrierte, tragende Tannine, etwas Nougat, gute Länge, ein saftiger Speisenwein, gutes Reifepotenzial."

Jeb Dunnuck: Checking in as a blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon that's resting in 40% new barrels, including 500-liter barriques, with the balance in once-used barrels, the 2025 Château La Couspaude offers darker red and blue fruits, leafy herbs, and damp earth on the nose. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it's ripe and round, with beautifully integrated tannins and acidity, the purity and vibrancy of the vintage, and a great finish."

Vinum: Florale Nase nach Rosenblüten und Veilchen, rote Kirsche, etwas Cassis, keinerlei Holz wahrnehmbar; zugänglicher Gaumen, packt dann zu, geschliffenes Tannin, delikater Fruchtkern, angenehm langes, würziges Finale. Gelungen."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 La Couspaude charges out with bold notes of blackberry preserves, ripe black cherries, and fresh blueberries, followed by hints of sassafras and Sichuan pepper. Medium- to full-bodied, the palate is rich and spicy in the mouth with great tension and velvety tannins, finishing opulent. The blend is 70% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Cabernet Franc."
