Jane Anson: Energy and momentum, a little more reserved than the Moulin St Georges, rose petals, floral aromatics fully ascendent, grilled incense and sandalwood, raspberry and red cherry fruits, tobacco leaf and salt scrape. Jeb Dunnuck: A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, the 2025 Château La Clotte comes from vines just outside the village, not far from Pavie Macquin, and is resting all in new barrels. Cassis, juicy black cherries, liquid violets, and chalky minerality all define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, with a focused, mineral-laced mouthfeel, solid tannins, and a lengthy, nicely structured finish that's very much in the vintage profile. It should need short-term cellaring."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Fruity, lush, creamy, and vibrant, the wine is packed with black cherries, plums, herbs, spices, licorice, mint, and crushed rocks from start to finish. Elegantly-textured, there is more than enough soft, vibrant, creamy fruits, with their salty essence to give you lift and length. You can enjoy this with just a year or two of aging. Or, if you prefer more secondary nuances, the wine will evolve for at least 2 decades after that. The wine blends 85% Merlot, with 15% Cabernet Franc. 13.5% ABV. Drink from 2028-2050."

Decanter: A touch of rose petals on the nose, fragrant and inviting with freshly-picked red berry fruit. Supple, softly chewy and high energy with great focus and intensity of flavour - there’s concentration but with really bright, almost piercing acidity that keeps this relatively straight and focused. An elegant, friendly and fun style. Touches of flint, iron, graphite and wet stones linger on the finish. Complex and nuanced. I like it. Still a touch high-toned and should soften a little over ageing. 3.5pH. Ageing 100% new oak."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2025 La Clotte charges out with bold notes of fresh blackberries and ripe plums, followed by hints of cedar chest, wet slate, and wild thyme. The medium-bodied palate is bright and dense with firm, grainy tannins and a crisp backbone, finishing long and savory. The blend is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc."
