The Wine Cellar Insider: Roses, violets, mint, chocolate, black cherries, crushed stone, and metal notes crowd the perfume. On the palate, the wine is silky, vibrant, refined, and elegant. There is the perfect amount of lift, giving the fleshy fruits, with their chocolate edge, energy on the mid-plate that carries through to the finish. This is still an insider's secret Pomerol, but not for long. Production averages only 500 cases per vintage. If you are a fan of Pomerol and want to try something new, check it out. The wine blends 80% Merlot, with 20% Cabernet Franc.13.5% ABV. Picking took place September 11 - September 15. Guillaume Thienpont of Vieux Chateau Certan is in charge of the estate. Drink from 2029-2055."

Decanter: Lovely fragranced aromatics on the nose with rose petals, liquorice and a very savoury character. Crunchy but silky too, smooth and succulent with real bite and an al dente, crisp aspect to the fruit. Supple and bouncy with such elegant tannins and a really cool blue fruit, flinty and wet stone aspect. I like this expression - dark fruit, deep and savoury with a touch of headiness, a hint of VCC and Le Pin about it. A mineral wine with iron, liquorice and salty oyster shell. Ripe and concentrated yet juicy, cool and fresh - so easy to like. Ends crisp and slightly powdery. Very good, one of the best with real definition and feels fresher than 2022. A yield of 26hl/ha (above the average for the appellation). Ageing 33% new oak, 33% one-year-old and 33% two-year-old barrels."

Jeb Dunnuck: A Merlot-heavy blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc from gravelly soils just beside Le Pin, the 2025 Château Guillot-Clauzel is raised in equal thirds of new, once-used, and second-fill barrels. It sports a deep ruby hue as well as a beautifully perfumed nose of red and black fruits, leafy herbs, tobacco, and spicy, floral nuances. It's a sexy, medium to full-bodied Pomerol on the palate, with no hard edges and outstanding length. It brings incredible charm and character in the vintage."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2025 Guillot Clauzel is a little closed to start, soon revealing a core of plum preserves and black cherries, leading to hints of crushed rocks, garrigue, and black pepper. The medium- to full-bodied palate is very forthcoming-happy and juicy-featuring plush tannins and great tension, finishing on a pure black cherry note. The blend is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc."
