Falstaff: Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung.

Decanter: I so often think of this as one of Bordeaux's best value wines and it's brilliant in 2025. Pure and pristine floral aromatics, really expressive, so open and friendly with verging on tart crisp and crunchy yet really pure strawberry fruit plus softly chewy ripe tannins and a lick of wet stone salinity. Still a bit tense and streamlined with a bite to the acidity that drives the wine and gives energy and push - cherry, cranberry and raspberry fruit. Razor sharp with liquorice and iron tang at the end. Quite a powerful, intense style with the tannins mostly masked by the mouthwatering acidity. Serious and pleasurable. 3.5pH. A yield of 35hl/ha. Now designated as a Vin de France as are all the other wines in the range."

Jane Anson: Excellent quality, supple and silky red fruits opening then fine grained tannins kick in that deepen and slow progress through the palate. This is a smile-inducing wine with great charm. Clay soils. 30% new oak. Harvest September 4 to 18, with around 37hl/ha yield."

Wine Advocate: The 2025 Vin de France from Grand Village reveals a bright, expressive bouquet of dark berries with a hint of raspberry. Medium- to full-bodied, it’s precise and seamless, defined by more pronounced, limestone-inflected acidity than in recent vintages. The texture remains juicy and fleshy yet more tightly contained, lending the wine a firmer sense of structure, and the wine concludes with a fresh and gently ethereal finish. It points to a subtle stylistic shift toward greater tension and clarity. It's a blend of 74% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Franc."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Strong floral notes start the wine off before you delve into the raspberries, spearmint and spice in the nose. Sweet, round, fruity, and fresh, there lift, and energy allowing the sweet cherries, plums, licorice, and leafy herbs to come through on the palate and in the juicy finish. If you are seeking a Right Bank value wine, they do not get much better than this! The wine blends 74% Merlot with 26% Cabernet Franc. Harvesting took place September 4 - September 18. Drink from 2028-2038."
