James Suckling: Medium- to full-bodied with precise, delineated fruit. There is a savory touch and a firm finish, with overall balance between structure and fruit. Finesse through but plenty behind. A blend of 66% cabernet sauvignon, 31% merlot and 3% petit verdot."

Decanter: Lovely fragrance and intensity of aromatics, blackcurrants and cherries with some dried herbal notes. Supple and grippy, chalky and filling but with such delicacy that it’s not at all overwhelming. Young but not really tight or too focused, it settles after a few minutes opening up the ripe black fruit. Mouthwatering acidity perfectly balances the tannins and structure without one part being over the top. I like the restrained style but there’s still an undercurrent of blueberries, cola, mint, liquorice and graphite. Assured and confident. Spiced."

Jeb Dunnuck: Cassis, graphite, spicy wood, and floral nuances all define the 2025 Château Grand-Puy Ducasse, a beautiful effort ranking with the best wines from this château. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, graceful mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and wonderful overall balance. It's a beautifully classic, satisfying Pauillac in the making. Tasted twice with consistent notes."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Currants, cigar box, tobacco leaves, cedar, blackberries, flowers, licorice, and a touch of smoke create the aromatic profile. On the palate the wine is round, polished, fruity, and expansive, with layers of creamy berries, espresso, licorice and spice. This could be the best wine ever produced at Grand Puy Ducasse. Drink from 2030-2055."

Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zart floral unterlegtes dunkles Waldbeerkonfit, zarter Nougat, Brombeerkonfit, einladendes Bukett. Komplex, saftig, elegant, reife Tannine, feine Extraktsüße im Abgang, ein harmonischer Begleiter bei Tisch, gutes Entwicklungspotenzial. Der Aufstieg geht weiter."

Jane Anson: Concentrated and plenty of punch, this has plenty of tasty black fruits, juice and flavourful character. Enjoyable. First year in organic conversion."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Grand-Puy Ducasse slowly unfurls to reveal notes of juicy black plums and fresh black currants, plus suggestions of cedar chest, bay leaves, and tilled soil. The medium-bodied palate delivers tight-knit black fruit flavors with firm, grainy tannins and a lively line, finishing long with a savory lift. Classic great Pauillac."
