Jeb Dunnuck: A complex, graceful wine, the 2025 Château Franc Mayne is 100% Merlot aged in equal parts new barriques and foudres. A solid core of juicy red fruits, dried flowers, spice, and classic chalky minerality all emerge on the nose. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has ripe, supple tannins and outstanding length. I tasted this on three occasions, and it showed beautifully every time. It's a balanced, graceful Saint-Emilion in the making."

James Suckling: A tight and focused red with blackberry, black olive and cherry undertones. It’s medium-bodied with firm tannins and a precise finish. Nice backbone of tannins and balance."

Wine Advocate: The 2025 Franc-Mayne is showing beautifully, bursting with expressive aromas of blackberries, mulberries and violets. Medium- to full-bodied, fleshy and pure, with a lively and enveloping core of fruit, bright acids and sweet tannins, even from cask it's already immensely appealing. The blend is still 100% Merlot, as the estate's Cabernet Franc isn't yet in production."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Spicy fruits, flowers, chocolate-topped black cherries, and plums shine in the perfume. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, soft, forward, refined, and vibrant, with a freshness to the supple, creamy fruits in the finish. The wine was made from 100% Merlot. Drink from 2028-2050."

Decanter: A burst of bright acidity starts the expression but then focuses and constricts a little with tight tannins and some liquorice spice. Tannins are firm but there’s clean and clear raspberry fruit with a salty tang. I like it but it needs to soften and expand a little more. Relatively compact. But nothing out of balance or too dry."

Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, dezente Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zarte Edelholzwürze, reife Herzkirschen, Nuancen von Gewürznelke, kandierte Orangenzesten unterlegt. Saftig, elegant, feines Waldbeerkonfit, frisch strukturiert, runde Tannine, mineralisch und gut anhaftend, vielseitig einsetzbar, delikater Stil."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Franc Mayne waltzes out with notes of baked blackberries and ripe, juicy black plums, plus hints of garrigue, cedar, and lavender. The medium-bodied palate offers compelling tension with fine-grained tannins and a bright, fruity finish."
