Jane Anson: The gourmet edge is evident from the first moments, keeping the signature of this wine, expertly done, cocoa bean, liquorice, glass-staining brightness, fresh acidities, takes a beat for the full La Croix signature to come in but it is luscious and juicy, and will reward five to seven years ageing. 3.67 pH. Harvest September 2 to 23, 60% new oak. Last year in the former cellar, with the new winery receiving fruit for the first time in 2026 vintage."

Decanter: Sweet, creamy, fragrant blackcurrants on the nose - smells floral, ripe and perfumed with vanilla and milk chocolate too. A touch chewy, you really get a mouthful of tannins here but it’s matched so well with such a cool, fresh mid-palate - blueberries and fresh plums - that the tannins melt away and you're left with quite a finely structured, pure and precise aspect. Still very much in its youth, compact, tight and knitted but this will be lovely. A little serious still. 3.67pH."

Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.

Jeb Dunnuck: Cassis, ripe black cherries, graphite, and spicy oak all emerge from the 2025 La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou, the second wine of Ducru-Beaucaillou, based on 87% Merlot, 11% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon that's still resting in 55% new French oak with the balance in once-used barrels. The blend includes slightly more Merlot than normal due to the small berry size of Cabernet this vintage, yet despite the high Merlot content, it brings ample finesse, precision, and focus. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a focused, layered mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and outstanding length."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou comes bounding out with exuberant notes of fresh black plums and juicy blackberries with underlying suggestions of lilacs, spice box, and dark chocolate. The medium-bodied palate is tightly wound and wonderfully bright with intense black fruit flavors and fine-grained tannins, finishing long and refreshing. The blend is 87% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 11% Petit Verdot. It has a pH of 3.67 and the alcohol is 13.09%."
