Am 23.04. waren wir auf DOMAINE DE CHEVALIER zur Verkostung des Jahrganges 2025. OLIVIER BERNARD war einer der ersten in Bordeaux, der 2010 beginnend, seine Weinberge nach den Grundsätzen des biodynamischen Weinbaus bewirtschaftete. Chemische, respektive synthetische Mittel kommen hier seit mehr als 15 Jahren nicht mehr zum Einsatz, die Weinberge werden mit Pferden bearbeitet, ein Großteil der Energie wird über PV-Anlagen generiert, groß darüber sprechen ist nicht der Stil der Familie, hier gilt das Motto: „The proof is in the bottle“. Wir verkosteten gemeinsam mit ADRIEN BERNARD sowohl die gesamte Palette der Weißweine, Jahr für Jahr mit das Beste, was Bordeaux zu bieten hat, mit 2025er Bewertungen bis hin zu 99 Punkten, als auch die Rotweine, die im Jahrgang 2025 ebenso herausragend gut ausfielen und mehrmals bis 98 Punkte bewertet wurden.

2025 DOMAINE DE CHEVALIER BLANC, war am Gaumen analog beeindruckend wie der Rote des Hauses. Unglaublich elegant und großzügig am Gaumen, sehr floral, saftig und dicht mit schönem Weißwein-Tannin und packender Salzigkeit im Finale. Ein Traum von einem weißen Bordeaux.

James Suckling: A tight and powerful wine with a precise and structured texture. Restrained, steely and racy. Goes on for minutes. So much intensity. A bright and shining white. Stunning balance. Alcohol 13.5%. A blend of 70% sauvignon blanc and 30% semillon."

Decanter: The cooler microclimate at this estate favours hot and dry weather, and this proved no exception in 2025. I tasted this wine no less than five times at different locations (négociant Joanne, CVGB, Pessac-Léognan group tasting, at the estate, too), always enjoying the exciting combination of freshness and white stone fruit fleshiness expressed in a suave palate texture with nuance and refinement, evoking Meursault-like depth and opulence. 'We picked later, including after the rains of late August, to get more breadth in the palate,' remarked owner Olivier Bernard. That - and a long finish. A great success!"

The Wine Cellar Insider: The perfume bursts with honeysuckle, white flowers, white peaches, spice box, Meyer lemons, and Granny Smith apples. The palate pops with its layers of sweet, round, fresh, juicy citrus and white peaches that start off strong and keep on going with a shot of mineral essences on the backend of the finish that adds to the complexity. You can enjoy this in its youth or age it for more complexity. The wine blends 70% Sauvignon Blanc with 30% Semillon. 13.5% ABV. Drink from 2028-2045."

Vinum: Ein wunderbarer Duft, komplex, leicht rauchig, mit weisser Grapefruit, grünem Apfel und floralen Noten; runder Auftakt, vollmundig, dabei von grosser Eleganz, saftige Frucht, sehr gute Säurestruktur; im Abgang von ausgezeichneter Länge und mit salzig-fruchtigem Finale. Gewohnt hohes Niveau."

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: The 2025 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc soars from the glass with vibrant notes of grapefruit essence, Granny Smith apples, and passion fruit, leading to a fragrant undercurrent of honeysuckle, lime blossoms, and sea spray. The medium-bodied palate is intense with citrus and tropical fruit layers with a refreshing line and chalky texture, finishing with great length and energy. The blend is 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Sémillon. The alcohol is 13.5% with a pH of 3.29."
