Jane Anson: Inky, dark chocolate, signature cedar and incense oak of this estate, but it is integrated, and not hiding a sense of energy and momentum. Yield 35 hl/ha, and this is another impressive Margaux in the vintage."

Wine Advocate: Less marked by oak than in recent vintages-though a toasty nuance remains-the 2025 Desmirail reveals aromas of dark berries, spices and lead pencil, mingled with notes of mulberries. Medium- to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, it’s seamless and layered, framed by velvety tannins and concluding with a harmonious, perfumed finish."

Decanter: Dried floral aromas on the nose. A little compact still, with some creamy oak elements, and there is acidity which offers some lift, but there’s a little lack of fruit and push, persistence and length. Falls a bit flat and short, and just a little disjointed right now. 4% Cabernet Franc completes the blend."

Jeb Dunnuck: A charming, understated Margaux, the 2025 Château Desmirail opens with lively red fruits, spice, dried flowers, and some tobacco nuances on the nose. Medium-bodied on the palate, it's fresh and balanced, with a rounded, forward style that's already hard to resist. It builds nicely with time in the glass, which is always a good sign at this stage."

Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.

The Wine Cellar Insider: Quite floral in nature, you also find cherries, smoke, espresso, and herbs in the nose. The medium-bodied palate is bright, fresh, reserved, and chalky, with a mineral essence in the finish. Give it a few years in the bottle, and it will be a markedly better wine. Drink from 2030-2050."
