Decanter: Perfumed floral flowers and strawberries, some Cabernet elements, mint, blackcurrant leaf, tobacco and cola. Ripe and plump but so cool. Lovely elegance and freshness - it’s finely detailed with softly grainy tannins giving a salty, chalky grip on the palate. I love the cool blueberry elements - long, structured but not firm, not muscular, more svelte and sinewy. A really accomplished style with everything you want. Maybe lacking in complexity for the moment but there’s no faulting the finesse and drinkability of this. 3.65pH. Ageing 15% new, 70% barrels of one year and 15% cement tanks. Harvest 5-17 September. Marie-Laure Latorre (agricultural engineer and oenologist) was appointed general director in September 2025 arriving from Château Jean Faure in St-Émilion where she handled technical, commercial and large-scale restructuring projects."

James Suckling: A well-made red, focused and textured with aromas of red cherries and some currants. Medium-bodied with fine, firm tannins and fresh acidity. Vivid with a savory finish and excellent length."

Wine Advocate: Marie-Laure Latorre (whose distinguished career at Château Jean Faure readers will remember) took the reins at this property shortly before the beginning of the vintage, so there are certainly exciting things in store at this address. In the meantime, the 2025 De Sales is a creditable effort, offering up aromas of dark berries, plums and vine smoke, followed by a medium- to full-bodied, dense and rather structured palate framed by powdery tannins. It's a blend of 68% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc and 13% Cabernet Sauvignon-an emphasis on Cabernet rare for this sector of Pomerol."

Jeb Dunnuck: A Merlot-heavy blend of 68% Merlot and the balance Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the 2025 Château De Sales is a solid, charming, forward Pomerol with ripe red plums, darker berries, gravelly earth, and spice on the nose. Medium-bodied on the palate, it's balanced and charming, with soft tannins. They've done well in this water-stressed vintage, and this château continues to produce delicious, well-made wines. It checks in at 13.5% alcohol."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Filled with cherries, and strong floral notes in the nose, the medium-bodied, bright, crisp wine offers freshness and a delicate mid-palate, with a soft, silky, cherry oriented finish. With a new director and consultant, the estate is showing a marked improvement. Drink from 2028-2045."
