James Suckling: A firm and linear wine showing crunchy orange peel, raspberry and fresh violet aromas that follow through to a medium body with firm and silky tannins and a vivid finish. Excellent energy in this second wine from d’Issan. 65% cabernet sauvignon, 32% merlot and 3% petit verdot."

Jane Anson: Bright blueberry and raspberry fruits, luscious and extremely impressive Blason. Love how mouthfilling and fragrant this is. The last time Cabernet Sauvignon has been dominant in Blason was in both 2015 and 2016. 3.48 pH. Harvest September 11 to 23. 35% new oak. Clear family relationship between the 1st and 2nd wine."

Decanter: Quite bracing acidity starts the frame before turning quite cool and focused with lots of liquorice, wet stone and tobacco plus some blackcurrant leaf and green pepper. I like the texture - smooth and sleek with a soft crushed stone accent on the finish. Ends cool and long, becoming a bit more fleshy with a succulent strawberry core. Nicely focused with precision and detail. 3.48pH. A yield of 29hl/ha."

Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zart floral unterlegte, reife rote Herzkirschen, Orangenzesten, mineralischer Touch. Mittlerer Körper, rote Beerenfrucht, frisch strukturiert, zarte Tannine, mineralisch-salzig im Abgang, ein lebendiger Speisenbegleiter."
