Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Clos Rene bursts with notes of stewed plums and black cherry compote, giving way to hints of bay leaves, pencil lead, and dusty soil. The medium- to full-bodied palate is lightly chewy with plenty of freshness and an earthy finish. The blend is % Merlot. The alcohol is %."

Jeb Dunnuck: A serious, concentrated Pomerol, the 2025 Clos René is based on 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Malbec. Smoky red and black fruits, graphite, and leafy herbs define the aromatics, with some subtle floral notes emerging with air. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with a concentrated mouthfeel, polished tannins, and a great finish. It might be up there with the finest I've tasted from this château."

Jane Anson: Deep plum, intense kick of spice, grilled oak notes, old school Pomerol that is delivering sinewy, muscular wine that has plenty to recommend. Old vines at 45 years average, 16ha, planted to 75 Merlot, 20 Cabernet Franc and 5 Malbec, vintage blend not given."

Decanter: Super ripe aromas on the nose, smells a little too ripe and perfumed really. But very aromatic. Plush and chewy on the palate with ripe fruit, but also a little oaky tannins that distract from the fruit at this point. Acidity and energy are there but this will need some time to come around. A touch spiced on the finish, just a bit more charged than some."
