Jeb Dunnuck: A Cabernet-dominant blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc that's being raised in 25% new French oak, the 2025 Clos Marsalette sports a deep purple hue as well as a pretty nose of juicy black cherry and almost blue fruits with liquid violets, graphite, and leafy herbs. Checking in at 13.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.65 and yields of 20 hectoliters per hectare, it's medium-bodied on the palate, with a pure, focused mouthfeel, fine tannins, and nicely integrated acidity. It's a beautiful wine."

The aromatics hint at dark berries and meadow like freshness with floral notes, but remain somewhat muted. The palate is composed and balanced, with somewhat tight tannins. I could have used a bit more generosity and charm, but a solid, traditionally styled wine that should broaden with barrel ageing."
