Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Feine Edelholzwürze, dunkle Waldbeeren, reife Kirschen, etwas Nougat, Orangenzesten, attraktives, florales Bukett. Komplex, saftig, elegant, reife, seidige Tannine, schokoladiger Touch im Abgang, zeigt Länge und Reifepotenzial, sehr vielversprechend."

Decanter: Expressive aromas are spicy, somewhat brooding, with notes of damson plum, dark berries, and a subtle oak-derived warmth. The clay-over-limestone terroir seems to lend both depth and a certain firmness to a structured palate, and the wine shows density and concentration, but also a noticeable tannic grip, with a slightly drying, still somewhat raw edge on the finish that suggests it will benefit from 18 months ageing in 25% new oak. A thread of orange rind-like freshness lifts the mid-palate, adding brightness and contrast to the darker fruit. While solid and structured, it feels a touch austere at this stage, lacking the immediate charm of a wine like Château de Chantegrive, even if the latter does not match Bouscaut’s depth. A serious, well-built wine that should reward patience but currently more about structure than seduction."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Flowers, black cherries, cocoa, and mint leaf aromatics get the wine started. The medium-bodied palate is supple, fresh, and fruity, with touches of chocolate, spice, blackberries, and plums on the mid-palate, and in the lush finish. This is the best red wine ever produced at Bouscaut! The wine blends 49% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot. 13.5% ABV. Drink from 2028-2050."

Jeb Dunnuck: A serious, rock-solid Pessac-Léognan, the 2025 Château Bouscaut shines with red plums, cassis, graphite, chocolate, and smoky nuances on the nose. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and focused, with ripe, firmer tannins and a great finish. It should easily be an outstanding wine, if not quite a bit more."

Jane Anson: Deep raspberry colour, grilled cedar and sandalwood, not overly intrusive but this is fairly knitted down at this point, dark fruits laced with coffee and cocoa bean. Well structured, clear vintage expression with its mix of freshness and concentration. Sophie and Laurent Coglombe Lurton's son Armand has joined them at the estate now. Yield 23 hl/ha. 25% new oak"

Wine Advocate: Evoking a somewhat earthy, introverted bouquet of spices, licorice and gentian mingled with mulberries, the 2025 Bouscaut is medium- to full-bodied, dense and structured, built around a solid chassis of youthful tannins. The palate remains firm but well composed, concluding with a long, delicately spicy finish. Despite its reserved character, it is well crafted and should age gracefully."
