James Suckling: A solid core of cherry and berry fruit on a medium body with salty and flinty undertones. Very bright and vivid with a crunchy finish. Creamy and pretty already. Attractive center palate. 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc."

Jane Anson: Creamy raspberry pastille from the opening moments, along with toasted cumin and cedar spice, olive pit and liquorice root, savoury with edges of chalk and salinity, great quality. Benjamin Laforêt technical director. 35hl/ha yield. 3.6ph."

Decanter: Dark cherry aromatics with creamy vanilla and floral fragrance. Such a gorgeous creamy, silky texture - this has concentration and intensity: weighty but not too much. Presence and poise, sophisticated but still with an element of freshness and lift. Serious, well built, muscular but finely so. Cool and extremely classic. 3.5pH. A yield of 35hl/ha"

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2025 Carillon d'Angélus unfurls slowly to reveal notes of black cherries and juicy black plums, followed by hints of licorice, tar, and tilled soil with a touch of lavender. Medium-bodied, the palate is plush and vibrant with tantalizing black fruit flavors and a refreshing minty lift on the finish. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The alcohol is 13.5% and the pH is 3.55."

Jeb Dunnuck: A beautiful, classy second wine from Angélus, the 2025 Le Carillon De Angélus is based on 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. It reveals ripe cassis and juicy berry fruits on the nose, along with spring flowers, graphite, and well-integrated wood. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, pure, and clean, with nicely balanced structure and a great finish."

The Wine Cellar Insider: Flowers, citrus peel, spearmint, plums, and cherries define the aromatic profile. The palate continues along the same line, delivering elegant layers of black cherries, raspberries, spice, and a touch of sea salt, with a bit of chalk on the backend of the finish. I really like the sweetness in the fruits balanced by its lift and energy. With a year or so in the bottle, you can enjoy this wine for at least 12 to 15 years after that. The wine blends 90% Merlot, with 10% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2028-2040."
