LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: "Deep garnet-purple colored. Is a touch shy to start off, slowly unfurling to offer glimpses of red currants and black raspberries notes, plus touches of garrigue, crushed rocks, and forest floor. The light to medium-bodied palate is energetic and bright, taut with red berry and mineral layers and framed by grainy tannins, finishing earthy. Nice!"

DECANTER: "Quite a straight and serious take on the vintage - not so charming - with a perfumed and aromatic nose filled with blackcurrants and dried herbs. There's a dark aspect to the flavours with a cola and spiced aspect once the slightly granular tannins subside. Focused but missing a touch more personality."

JEB DUNNUCK: "Sappy spring flowers, rose, sweet red fruits, and cedar pencil notes all emerge from the 2024 Château Certan De May, a medium-bodied, fresh, focused, elegant Pomerol that has elevated acidity, a nicely layered mouthfeel, and fine tannins. This pretty, more red-fruited, floral Pomerol is based on 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, aging in 80% new barrels, and is going to need just a few years of bottle age to come together. The higher Cabernet component really gives this a singular character."
