WEINWISSER: "55 % Merlot, 20 % Cabernet Franc, 25 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 14.5 Vol.-%. Bezauberndes blaubeeriges Bouquet, zartes Veilchenparfüm und Holundergelee. Am kompakten Gaumen mit seidiger Textur, engmaschigem Tanningerüst, leicht stützender Rasse, edlem mineralischem Kern und energiegeladenem Körper. Im konzentrierten, langanhaltenden Finale blaue und schwarze Beeren, dunkle Mineralik und feinkörnige Adstringenz. So gut habe ich diesen Wein noch nie degustiert! Grandioser Castillon!"

VINUM: "Expressiv, floral, Veilchen, Cassis, Brombeere; saftiger Gaumen, top strukturiert, der Wein zeigt messerscharfe Tannine, viel Charakter, eindrückliche Länge. Kann lange reifen."

LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: "A plot of Cabernet Sauvignon planted in 2021 came on line this year, so there is more Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend of the 2023 Montlandrie than usual. The blend is 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 55% Merlot and it is deep garnet-purple in color. It charges out of the glass with powerful notes of baked plums, black cherry preserves, and black raspberries, followed by hints of mint tea, clove oil, Indian spices, and fragrant soil. The full-bodied palate is jam-packed with expressive black fruit layers, framed by velvety tannins and bags of freshness, finishing long and opulent."

DECANTER: "An attractive aromatic profile ranges from blackberry and cassis to chocolate brownie and floral. The first press of the Cabernet Sauvignon was so impressive that the estate used it for the first time, about 2%, and the impression left is of a wine with fine structure but also savoury, as the blend remains dominated by Merlot. Medium finish, with much class."

JAMES SUCKLING: "Sophisticated for the appellation, with blackberries, hazelnuts and a hint of salt. It's medium-bodied and polished, with refinement and length. Nice energy."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Tobacco, flowers, spices, cherries, and mint form the aromatic profile. The medium-bodied palate balances between its vibrant energy, and its sweet, and spicy, bright, red fruit side. There is elegance, and length in the red, pit fruit finish. Give it a year or two in the cellar, and enjoy it for 15 or more years. The wine blends 55% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Cabernet Franc. 14.5% ABV. Drink from 2027-2040."

JEB DUNNUCK: "The 2023 Château Montlandrie is a complex blend of 55% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc, and it was brought up in 50% new French oak. A terrific sense of minerality as well as impressive darker cherry and currant fruits, leafy herbs, and spice all define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with a beautifully layered texture and ripe tannins."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "A blend of 55% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon matured 50% in new oak, the 2023 Montlandrie offers up aromas of flowers, wild dark berries and mulberries with a touch of reduction. Medium to full-bodied, dense and rich with a concentrated core of fruit, it’s enrobing and charming with structuring tannins and a long, licorice and smoke-inflected finish. It will offer a broad drinking window."
