James Suckling: "Blackberries, blackcurrants and a hint of lead pencil. Medium to full body with flavors of graphite and dark fruit. Creamy and fine tannins. Vivid at the end. 92% merlot and 8% cabernet franc."

Vinum: "Offen, expressiv, kühl, dunkelfruchtig, mit Tabak und Zimt; delikate Frucht am Gaumen, feinkörniges Tannin, zeigt Dynamik und Frische, hallt auf rote Beeren und Pflaumen nach. Elegant."

Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2023 Château Le Thil is based on 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc, coming from more clay soils and aging in 30% new French oak. This deep purple-hued 2023 offers lots of ripe black cherry, chocolate, and scorched earth-like aromatics to go with medium to full-bodied richness and depth on the palate. It's a structured, rich Péssac-Léognan that's going to need some time to integrate its structure and tannins."

Weinwisser: "Feingliedriges rotbeeriges Bouquet, Brasil-Tabak und Tabakblatt. Am eleganten straff ausgerichteten Gaumen mit feinspröder Textur, sandigem Extrakt und mittlerem Körper. Im gebündelten Finale rote Johannisbeere sowie Eisenkraut gepaart mit mehliger Adstringenz. Aufgerundet."

Decanter: "Dark nose, full of cedar and liquorice and cedar. Quite a punchy nose with blackcurrant and bramble fruit. Straight and serious, focussed and clear, lovely pristine nature of the wines. Sharp and tangy but relaxed too, it softens with a chalky undercurrent and lots of graphite minerality. Clear terroir influence with some tension and some compaction. It’s streamlined and quite tense but has nice style. 3.65pH."

Falstaff: „Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Feine Würze, schwarze Beeren, ein Hauch von Lakritze, mineralischer Touch. Kraftvoll, straff, dunkle Frucht, präsente Tannine, mineralisch-salziger Abgang, gutes Reifepotenzial."

The Wine Cellar Insider: "Flowers, cocoa, and black currants create the character here in the nose, and on the medium-bodied palate, which already displays its supple, round, fresh, sweet, chocolate-covered cherry core of fruits, with a hint of mint that shows in the finish. This is going to be a pleasure to enjoy on release, and for at least a decade, or more after that. The wine was produced from 92% Merlot, and 8% Cabernet Franc. 14% ABV. Drink from 2027-2037."
