JAMES SUCKLING: "An aromatic wine with violets, oranges and blackberries. Similar flavors on the palate, with creamy tannins with a hint of terra-cotta. I like the quality of the tannins. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc."

WEINWISSER: "79 % Merlot, 21 % Cabernet Franc, pH 3.58, 35 hl/ha. Delikates rot- und blaubeeriges Bouquet, verführerisches Veilchenparfüm, Lakritze und Johannisbeernektar. Am saftigen Gaumen mit weicher Textur, vibrierender Rasse, reifem Tanningerüst und mittlerem Körper. Im gebündelten aromatischen Finale frischgepflückte Himbeere, erkalteter Früchtetee, Graphit und feinmehlige Adstringenz. Top-Wert aus Pomerol. Eric Monneret führte eine grüne Lese durch, um mehr Konzentration zu erlangen und nichts im Mittelteil zu vermissen. Gehört in seiner Klasse zu den Besten."

LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: "A blend of 79% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc, La Pointe 2023 has a pH of 3.58 and is deep garnet-purple in color. It slowly emerges from the glass with fragrant scents of redcurrant jelly, Morello cherries, and fresh plums, leading to hints of star anise, lilacs, fallen leaves, and tilled soil. The medium-bodied palate is lively and vivacious, with energetic black and red berry layers and soft, satiny tannins, finishing long and earthy. Nicely done!"

VINUM: "Expressiv, mit roten Früchten, Zwetschgen und Kräutern, darüber Koriandersamen, florale Töne; am Gaumen erfreulich frisch und leichtfüssig, zeigt Energie und Rasse, die Frucht ist knackig, die Säure stimmt, langes, würziges, rotfruchtiges Finale."

DECANTER: "With a bright attack and ripe dark cherry and plum aromas, this may not be the most charming among Pomerols in 2023, but it offers fine mid-palate grip. Barrel ageing - and some cellaring - should soften somewhat raw tannins. The wine packs punch, accentuated by high-toned acidity, the low 3.58 pH in evidence. Harvest dates between 4-25 September. Ageing in 50% new oak."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Sweet red berries with chocolate are what you initially notice in the perfume. On the palate, the medium-bodied wine is bright, crisp, elegant, and juicy, with lift, energy, and most importantly, a refreshing touches of citrus and dark chocolate in the backend of the finish. Drink from 2026-2040."
