DECANTER: "A stunning white wine in 2023. Green apple, crisp and alive on the nose. Round and forward, gorgeous density and texture on the tongue, bright and fresh, a dash of sherbet lemon gives the zing, while this has a strict backbone like the red, keeping the focus on the fruit and the tension in equal measure. Alive and bright, not too full or too acidic. Great green apple, a touch of grapefruit and orange too. Gorgeous purity and crystalline aspects with some power underneath but all the while keeping straight and direct. Focussed and intentional. Remarkable. 3.2pH, 4 total acidity."

JAMES SUCKLING: "A creamy, round texture with ripe yet fresh aromas and flavors, showing apples, pears and hints of peaches. Medium- to full-bodied, polished and satisfying. 65.3% sauvignon blanc and 34.7% semillon."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Waxy lemons, white peach, pineapple, and green apples come through in this vibrant, juicy, crisp, wine, which balances its juicy yellow citrus with its sweetness. The wine is made from a blend of 65.3% Semillon and 34.7% Sauvignon Blanc, picking took place August 24, and finishing September 5. The length of harvest is extraordinary, considering there are only 3.5 hectares of vines. 13.9% ABV, 3.3 pH. Drink from 2026-2040."

LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: "A blend of 65.3% Sauvignon Blanc and 34.7% Semillon, the white La Mission Haut-Brion 2023 has a pH of 3.2. It races out with ready-to-go notes of fresh grapefruit, lime blossoms, and fresh pineapple giving way to wafts of fragrant mandarin peel, beeswax, and wet pebbles. The medium-bodied palate is tightly wound and elegantly styled, with beautiful tension and a mineral-laced finish."

JEB DUNNUCK: "More Sauvignon Blanc-dominated, the 2023 Château La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc is 65.3% Sauvignon and 34.7% Semillon. It has a very pure, crisp, medium-bodied style as well as beautiful citrus, lemon, and honeysuckle-driven aromatics, with just hint of background minty herbs. It's not massive by any means, but it has the supple, ripe fruit of the vintage paired with vibrant acidity."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Offering up generous amounts of lemon oil, spices and ripe orchard fruits with a touch of spring flowers, the 2023 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and broad, with a rich, aromatic palate. It concludes with an ethereal, powerful finish that carries elegant white fruit notes. It's a blend of 65.3% Sauvignon Blanc and 34.7% Sémillon."

FALSTAFF: "Helles Gelbgrün, silberfarbene Reflexe. Zarte weiße Kernobstnuancen, ein Hauch von Grapefruit, zart nach Heublumen, sehr verhaltenes Bukett. Saftig, elegant, weißer Pfirsich, mineralisch, ein Hauch von weißem Nugat ist unterlegt, bleibt haften, ein eleganter Speisenwein, gutes Reifepotenzial, bereits gut entwickelt."
