A little shy to begin, it needs some coaxing to bring out notes of blackberry preserves and plum pudding plus suggestions of mossy tree bark, wild fungi, and fragrant soil. The medium to full-bodied palate is tightly wound, with lightly chewy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing on a lingering earthy note."

JEB DUNNUCK: "From the cooler eastern portion of the appellation, the 2023 Château Faugères is deep ruby/purple-hued and has a lively perfume of darker red and blue fruits as well as violets, spring flowers, and charcoal. It's medium-bodied and supple, with the more fruit-forward style of the vintage and outstanding length. Tasted multiple times with consistent results."
