Chateau Corbin 2023

DECANTER: "A top wine among the St-Emilion Cru Classés, given pure cool mint and blueberry fruit aromas. Made from grapes picked between 7 to 26 September, the wine exhibits verve and depth on the juicy palate. Subtle opulence and plenty of length and charm. Densimetric sorting paid dividends to sort out unfit grapes. Soft extraction accentuates a notion of tannin refinement. Barrel ageing will further broaden the palate to make the wine truly special in this vintage."

JAMES SUCKLING: "The polish and finesse to this reflects classy and excellent terroir. It’s medium-bodied with dark-berry and stone character. Fine, chewy tannins. Liking this a lot. May be better than 2022?"

VINUM: "Fasziniernd im Duft mit Veilchenblüten und Rosmarin, strahlende Frucht; cremiger Gaumen, feinkörniges Tannin, die Frucht perfekt ausgereift, keine Schwere; viel Präzision; lang, frisch, zeigt viel Eleganz."

LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: "The 2023 Corbin is deep garnet-purple in color. It gallops out of the glass with energetic notes of blackberries, fresh blueberries, and wild strawberries, plus hints of cardamom, violets, and cedar. Medium-bodied, the palate is plush and juicy, with bags of bright fruit and a fragrant finish."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Black plums, black cherries, flowers, and licorice shine in the perfume. Elegant, refined, soft, medium-bodied, and with sweet, ripe, fruits, with freshness, this is already charming in your glass. And it is only going to get better with a year or two in the bottle. The wine blends 95% Merlot with 5% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2027-2042."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Round and fleshy, the 2023 Corbin offers up aromas of dark cherries and mulberries mingled with mint and spices, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and fleshy palate that's charming and enveloping. This will offer a broad drinking window."

WEINWISSER: "Verspieltes rotbeeriges Bouquet, getrocknete Fliederblüten, Sandelholz und Preiselbeersaft. Am saftigen Gaumen mit weicher Textur, stützender Rasse, engmaschigem Tanningerüst und geradlinigem Körper. Im gebündelten mittleren Finale ein Korb mit Schattenmorellen, zarter Graphitnote und mehliger Adstringenz."
