JAMES SUCKLING: "Good structure and focus here with medium body and firm tannins. Juicy berry fruit in the center-palate. Lightly chewy at the end."

WEINWISSER: "Feingliedriges rotbeeriges Bouquet, Majoran, heller Tabak und Johannisbeergelee. Am geradlinigen Gaumen mit weicher Textur, stützender Rasse sowie engmaschigem Körper, dicht. Im gebündelten, sehr straffen Finale mit Schattenmorelle, Graphit und feinkörnigem Extrakt."

DECANTER: "With pleasing ripe cassis and plum, this wine in the northern Médoc shines albeit not as bright as some of the top Haut-Médocs, as I notice somewhat austere tannins, lacking some charm, but I like its mid-palate concentration and the iodine freshness on the finish that bodes well. Ageing in 33% new oak should smoothen some of the edges."

JEB DUNNUCK: "I continue to love this Haut-Médoc, and the 2023 Château Charmail is a lovely, round, supple, medium-bodied effort that has tons of charm in its red fruits, spice, savory, leather, and herbal aromas and flavors.
